I’m totally skipping this garden planting season and I’ll pick back up in the spring.
What? You thought I’d say something else did ya?
I have had a full plate this fall – we’ve had family, friends-like-family come in town and I got a wee bit ahead of myself with a few product reviews I need to do (and I’m excited to share with you), prepping for a new roof, decor for a new business, and well, you may have seen on social media I did this –
I think it’s me trying to “catch up” and figured if it’s up, I can forget about it. A few years ago I put up Christmas decor before Halloween – it might have even been last year and Benjamin begged me not to turn the lights on. This year, I waited two days post Halloween and well, Merry Christmas to you for the next two months from me!
The weather has dipped down below 70 during the day (where did my 80s weather go?), and the sky is looking quite fabulous!
The winter rye I planted is has grown, even after all the bird chasing I’ve been doing. Oh, I also did those allergy back tests and found out I’m highly allergic to winter rye, and secondly bermuda grass. Yep, year round grass, womp womp. Do you see how beautifully vibrant our winter grass is?
I can’t really pinpoint my favorite things to grow this fall and the frost might come again so I’m going to wait for end of February/early March to pick it back up. There’s just something to be said about realizing maybe one part of your life can be put on hold while other things in life need more attention.
Another exciting project I’m working on this fall is helping decorate a beautiful space for a new bridal boutique in Glendale, Arizona. From the wall color and flooring choice, it’s been a new experience for me that I’m so excited to do this. I’m grateful for this amazing opportunity and I cannot wait to show you as we go along. You might not know that my first love is actually a graphic design/marketing before I became a photographer and so branding this new business is like my new business, all my heart and soul is going into this baby to make sure it flourishes.
In more personal news I’m growing tremendously from the past few weeks – I am thankful for friends who encourage me through scripture, emails, texts, picking up the phone immediately to call me and pray for me (so many of you!). My dissolve of relationships have been rough on my heart but I realize everyone has their own battle and to be compassionate towards their sensitivities and where they are in life, and to always examine my heart in the process before I react. All I can do is be thankful that I can openly share my struggles with you.
You know when you get a tech device and you get so frustrated because it’s not working correctly? I tell you, most of the time it’s user error – we only have ourself to blame. I think some of our problems we can see if it’s a user error, and if it’s not, be compassionate to those who don’t know user error exists yet.
Hope you’re having a great week.
