Though we love to eat, we don't like to spend a lo

Though we love to eat, we don't like to spend a lot of time in the kitchen when there's so much more to do - like get outside to garden and enjoy the fruits of our labor. After finally sitting down to watch all 8 Harry Potter movies in a row in a matter of days - I knew I had to create something with HP. I have another HP look coming up, stay close... who’s a fan?

To get the shot: I wanted stuffed Hedwig to be suspended so I taped a string to the wall so he could look as if he was just resting on my shoulder. I used a speedlight with beauty dish and 30 degree grid, with a radiopopper trigger to light me up. The original backdrop was a backlit brick backdrop and my girlfriend Jennifer (thank you @chiunwei) said the dorm would be better so I Photoshopped it in the back! I just said "lumos" and my wand lit up 😉

I do love these fun costume photos (was worried I'd be bored after Twilight - scroll back on the feed if you missed them!). Doing these shoots stretches my creativity and skills, I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy creating them! Which HP movie is your favorite?

It is my duty to protect my family - Mulan. Dropping Halloween costume ideas and creative photo editing starting now!

Photography: I used a 30 degree beauty dish on a strobe in my photo studio with Benjamin using a foam board to blow some wind in my hair. He started to get really aggressive with his fan blowing technique and it felt like he was enjoying it too much ... then we realized if he fanned from the bottom up it would look better. (See the second video)

I watched the live action Mulan movie outdoors one evening while in Strawberry (@thestrawberryinn) and as we watched the movie, there was the scene when Mulan took down her hair during battle and it looked like Pantene Pro-V hair. My friend Amber @ambeezey_e whispered to her little girls, "Look, it's like Diana's hair," and I immediately looked at her and excitedly said, "Oh my gosh, I have to dress up as Mulan!" and then, it happened. I'm having fun doing some creative photo editing and being back in the studio!
