Easter Party Ideas

Since we couldn’t gather last year in 2020 for Easter I had to throw an over the top Easter celebration with our friends who are like family!

I
had to post because blogging is like my online diary – and usually I’m scrolling through old posts to remind myself of wonderful memories. I hope you had a wonderful weekend whatever you did – laying low or with friends and family.

This Easter party is the third one we’ve hosted officially and it’s become an accidental tradition now, and a very welcome one. Benjamin and I don’t have immediate family here though we’ve been spending it with his cousin/aunt and uncle who we love very much and spend Thanksgiving with. We are now officially hosting our own Easter and it’s been a blast to celebrate the resurrection of Christ with friends who are like family.

Last year we went into mandatory lockdown and I was so sad about it, I had all these plans and so you can say I went all out this year because I was too excited!  Here is the blog post with some of the links to the products I bought, the eggs that made noise when you shake them was a hit and I link to the lawn games we played.

My dress is an older Lilly Pulitzer holiday dress, Benjamin said I looked like a present, haha! I ordered from Postinos and we also ordered pizza and the kids really liked it. We had a lot of leftovers but it’s better to have leftovers than run out of food right?

The guys hid the eggs and some of us gals stuffed the eggs a few weeks earlier and I am SO thankful for their help because it was a LOT. I also threw in some yard games and the guys stepped in and made the rules and helped facilitate all the games which was a total blast!

To see the kiddos smile and feel the immense love and joy I feel being surrounded by some of our best friends it makes the months of planning and set up worth it. I hope the kids remember this forever because I know I will.

Also these friends of ours all have family in town, and to know we are considered a part of their family tradition means the world to us. We had just invited friends over a few Easters ago to see who would come (my inlaws were in town) and I was surprised that nearly everyone came. Then the following year, again and here we are again! Most of you know Benjamin and I have chosen the otherhood and we don’t have our immediate families here in town so if you feel alone, perhaps host a party and see who comes! Or, if you know others who don’t have family over for holiday celebrations. I cannot think of a better time to show God’s love to others and we know love because He first loved us.

See a quick clip of the fun we had!
