Harvesting Lavender in Pine

We headed 90 minutes north of Phoenix to Strawberry to hang out with friends for the weekend. My friend and I helped harvest some lavender at the Pine Lavender Farm with other volunteers!

It was a weekend for volunteers invited by Pine Creek Canyon Lavender Farm to harvest some lavender. We helped bundle the lavender that was freshly cut! I came home with lavender hot cocoa mix and some lip balm from the store (one most days I believe),

Amber, my friend who owns The Strawberry Inn with her husband is friends with the owner of the lavender farm and many years ago we took a fun cooking class there. See this post.

^^ I did not pack correctly and had to borrow Amber’s spare shorts haha! I didn’t care what they looked like I was going to die in the 95+ heat and I needed some shorts! I did however pack a garden hat which Amber instructed me to do thankfully!

^^ See the elk?

A few stops included The Honey Stand, an Italian cream soda (peach flavor for me!) at the Windmill Coffee shop right on The Strawberry Inn property. We had a nice time spent with friends, weathered a crazy rain storm while having dinner together and came back to watch a movie on the couch. It’s always nice to break things up and spend some QT with good friends.

Even though it wasn’t quite the escape for cooler temps we still had a good time and the fact we could actually stand outside without sweating and feeling like we would die was a good enough reason to head up! Did you catch the tiger print stools I upholstered?

I had never heard of this place before. I’ll have to check it out next time I’m in the area.
