I recall being in the first grade and walking on a platform and my jacket string was hanging and a kid sitting under the bridge below yanked hard, pulling my drawstring completely out – I was quite peeved. If you have kids, they are probably pulling them out themselves or their siblings or peers are doing it for them.
When I do the laundry I look at my hoodies and think, oh drawstring, please stay put – I think to safety pin them before I toss them in the wash but rarely does that happen.
There are a few ways to restring your hoodie like using a paperclip, safety pin or booby pin anything to have a tool you can feel to string it back through the hoodie, or…
Use this product called Re-String It. You can fix drawstrings on pulled out sweats, hoodies or jackets in 20 seconds, as the tagline says, but I think it only takes 10 seconds if you’re ninja fast like me.
How to Fix Drawstring on hoodies or sweats
The blue end has a wire loop, you pull down the blue part and the loop is exposed so you can slip the lost drawstring through. The other end is like a knitting needle which you start to thread through the drawstring hole – quickly.
The wire cable makes it secure and go smoothly, the drawstring quickly follows through after a pull.
I purposefully yanked out one of my drawstrings out of a hoodie to show you how it works – not going to lie, doing so really scared me but 10 seconds later, it was fine.
Here’s how to fix a pulled out drawstring.
Happy hoodie wearing!
