Mulan Costume Idea for Halloween

Costume wearing size small (check waist size this matters)

I
watched the live action Mulan movie outdoors one evening while in Strawberry visiting my friend Amber who owns The Strawberry Inn. As we watched the movie outdoors, there was the scene when Mulan took down her hair during battle and it looked like Pantene Pro-V hair. My friend Amber whispered to her little girls, “Look, it’s like Diana’s hair,” and I immediately looked at her and excitedly said, “Oh my gosh, I have to dress up as Mulan!” and then, it happened.

The costume isn’t the best quality just to let you know – and I’m in a size small and it fit perfectly around my waist (I wear a size 26). There is no flexibility with that belt piece so I’d suggest measuring if you are going to by the costume which is an official Disney Mulan costume (I had no idea).

I couldn’t get my hands on a sword so I photoshopped it in the back.

This is simply my opinion, but I don’t think anyone has to be a specific ethnicity to dress up as someone else, for example if you aren’t Asian doesn’t mean you can’t be Mulan for Halloween. As long as everyone is in character respectfully as most and many I have seen do, then do it! I love seeing little girls embrace other cultures and why shouldn’t we give everyone that chance to celebrate and be their favorite character for Halloween? We’re all adults, we know how to do it tastefully and celebratory, that’s all. That’s my two cents.

I have two more outfits coming up for Halloween! Any guesses? Stay close to the IG, you’ll see them soon ;)
