Michelle Maternity at Los Poblanos

Where do I even begin with this post about my lovely best friend Michelle?  You know when you first meet someone and you know like them, but you still need that bonding moment/life changing event to happen to make you realize, “This person is going to be one of my best friends”?  For Michelle and me, it was a day at a nail salon three years ago.  She recommended that we spend some time together, and during that time, she asked questions about my family, upbringing, thoughts, feelings, and I did the same to her.  We shared stories about our pasts and later that day, I walked away feeling that “click” and knowing that she was someone I could confide, cry t,o and rejoice with.

I’ve never cried more to anyone than Michelle.  Next, might be her husband who I consider a big brother.  I trust them both to give me Godly wisdom, unbiased guidance, and unconditional love and patience.  To me, they are my role models for not only a Godly couple, but individually they are each strong, obedient loving Christians.  When they moved from Phoenix to Albuquerque I cried buckets.  The last night before they moved, they stayed at my house and the following morning I cried so hard that my body shook.  Even now, I tear up just thinking about it.  Never before have I been so emotionally attached to a couple, to friends, who I love so dearly and they are among my favorite blessings from the Lord.

While it’s only been a few months since their move, I have been to Albuquerque three times and last week, I went out for Michelle’s baby shower, baby #2, a girl whose name has not been chosen yet (or so they say, you see, they didn’t tell anyone Ethan’s name until the day he was born).  We took maternity photos at the entrance of Los Poblanos Inn, a location that I always saw from the backseat of the car and I’d point from the  and say, “I want to shoot there one day.”

This was the day.  This is my best friend Michelle with baby bump #2, due in four weeks.  Congratulations M, I miss you and love you very much.
