It took a while to decide on a Christmas theme – a very new concept of having a theme as I have never had one until a girlfriend said she doesn’t use all her decor every year depending on what theme she wanted to go with. A theme! Genius!

While I don’t have the luxury of storage space, I wanted to have a theme that could stay with me for a good while, and realized, I love the winter wonderland/woodland style – I already had animals and fur pieces mixed with knits so it made sense to go this route! Have you seen Pottery Barn’s faux fur line? I have one of their cozy faux fur robes and I feel like Mariah when I answer the door for UPS.

Now that life is a bit more organized, I want to intentionally switch out blankets and pillow covers with the seasons. I realized if I stored pillow cases and blankets correctly in (my now organized) linen closet, I could swap the seasons with ease.

So out come the furry blankets, pillow cases, knit cases, and festive prints!

The feeling of being snuggly and cozy are just a handful of reasons I love the cooler season. I also love that I can have soup for a meal and drink hot cocoa every night!

Sometimes I flip the blanket over so the fur is touching my skin and I feel like I’m cozied up with the softest bear, it’s the little luxuries.

I temporarily moved our etagere since the new slim Christmas tree took it’s place by our tele. I’m not fully done decorating which is why I’m showing bits and pieces here and there but when the trees are out, I’m going to head to buy some fresh trim to flow down the sides of the etagere! I can’t wait! It’ll add that touch of life and greenery.

The neutral and warm touches is really what this space needed for the cooler months.

Sometimes if you look around at the decor you already have, you may find a theme – woodsy, neutral, cozy or glam. Even when decorating for the holidays or seasons, take into consideration the textures of the season and have fun with it!
