A Lighter Solution for Outdoors + Gardening

My friends at Gilmour told me a new hose was arriving to market this spring and I couldn’t wait to try it. Gilmour® AquaArmor™ Lightweight Hose is made in the U.S.A. backed by a lifetime warranty and is an impressive 50% lighter than standard hoses. It comes in 25′, 50′ and 100′ and is up to 10x longer-lasting than expandable hoses. The hose coils flat when not in use and becomes round for maximum flow during use and unkinks itself.
It is so light, I couldn’t believe it when the new hoses arrived, we replaced all four hoses around our home. I have three 50′ and one 100′ for the garden area.

Gilmour® AquaArmor™ Lightweight Hose + The Swivel Connect™ Watering Thumb Control Nozzle

I bought a cute bee hive hose holder because I knew it would motivate me to put the hose away once I was done and it is so much easier now that I use only Gilmour® AquaArmor™ Lightweight Hoses. I found coiling it back up to put away is much easier while there’s water in it, less kinks, then I release the water out of the nozzle when it’s all put away.
But wait, how does the water not flow out with the nozzle? Let me introduce you to my favorite nozzle! We have four of them by each of the hoses. The Swivel Connect™ Watering Thumb Control Nozzle pivots without twisting the hose, reducing kinks and there’s a thumb control that turns the nozzle off and on so you don’t have to run to the spigot, all the control is in your hand.
You know this by now, I am a huge fan of Heavy Duty Quick Connectors because I can switch from a bubbler for deep watering my citrus trees to a nozzle, or a power jet wand to clean the pavement. The connector has been updated so now you can switch between your nozzle and sprinkler in seconds – all while staying dry.
We’re 85% done with the new garden space, just waiting on cement steps and gravel. We’re currently trying to kill the grass that’s in the area so it won’t pop up after the next rainfall, which for us will be monsoon season. Also, we will replace the wood fence with a smooth white cinderblock wall like our property walls, so we’re in the middle of waiting for quotes.
In just a month’s time after seeding and planting bulbs in the beds and moving veggie starters to the raised bed, it’s so nice to see it green and flourishing. It makes me so happy to wake up every morning during spring time to see what’s bloomed and grown. I do talk to my plants (I think it helps).

I’ve also been watering all my plants and vegetables with the hose to get the aphids off my rose blooms – in addition to a pest spray, we also hose down the driveway with the mud that’s often dragged around lately. We have so much mud around here that I also had to buy a boot scraper so we can get the mud off the bottom of our boots and put them away in the mudroom before we enter the house.
The Gilmour® AquaArmor™ Lightweight Hose is so relieving for all the watering I do around here and helps unload that weight off my back and dragging it. I feel less tired after a full days work of gardening. It is unlike most lightweight hoses that are cloth, it has an abrasion-resistant cover and is up to 15x stronger than fabric hoses, withstands extreme temperatures and provides advanced UV protection – much needed in Phoenix extreme sun and heat. It’s drinking water safe, free of lead, BPA, phthalates and PVC, and ideal for food gardens, RVs, boats and more.
It’s great to hear so many of you starting gardens and these products really help me keep my plants and flowers happy! I would gift them to any new gardener or home owner. ♥

Diana Elizabeth used to say fall was her favorite season but mainly because the heat in Phoenix goes away but then she realized, spring is really her favorite, all the blooms, duh!
