For the past six years, these gals and I have gathered at my place to celebrate Christmas. We’ve celebrated the season in many ways: by stealing each other’s gifts, doing a cookie exchange (we stopped after some of us brought store bought cookies!), underwear exchange (new undies!), trading ornaments, decorating cookies, and playing the game Left, Right, Center to win money (I won which was great since I let nearly everyone borrow $3 each).
Pajamas just make sense for a few reasons – the nights go late even though we swear they won’t, it’s a great excuse to buy new jammies, and, I don’t allow shoes in my house so the comfy attire paired with slippers or cozy socks are just perfect.
I found my 2012 party jammies at Target, $25 for the set. This year we have a new baby to add to the group (in addition to the 3), and one more on the way that will probably join us at the next party. (Unsaid rule: if baby needs mommy to eat, the tike has to come, if not, it’s mom’s night off!) I’m so looking forward to breaking in my new pj’s and making more memories like a Pinterest activity!
Diana Elizabeth says some traditions you should try hard not to break – yearly get togethers mark how far everyone has come, reminders of the small simple things, and just a good excuse to be girly and have some ridiculous fun!
