Fresh Air

W
ell, I wish I looked like this right now – can you please picture me as these images portray in this blog post oppose to the real life scenario of me on the couch with my legs up, still in pajamas and watching Season 4 of Frasier. Though my long awaited septoplasty surgery is complete, I still cannot breathe and am quite miserable, to be honest.

I unfortunately had to cancel plans this week – I had some things scheduled before I scheduled my surgery and realized, none of it should be getting done with the way I’m feeling. Mr. Wonderful is the best caretaker – I joke that he’d be the best nurse. It also doesn’t surprise me since he works in medical device field and he does care about the patients he treats.

Once I can breathe again, I’m going to run outside arms open and breathe in all the air and flowers.

Monsoon season is here! I love listening to the sound of rain. One of my strangest wishes is to be in the middle of the ocean observing a storm in the middle of the night. But like, be in this protective bubble where I would just float right on the ocean. I just imagine seeing sea creatures, moonlight reflection rippling the ocean waves, I dunno, that sort of scene!

Maybe I should’ve been a weather girl. Nah! I’ve just always been loving the mood of weathers.

So while I’m a bit under the weather now, I’ll be back to work and happy to breathe in fresh air and honestly, get back out into the garden! Before I know it, it’ll be time to prep the fall beds, yay!

Diana Elizabeth has found a sliver of hope thanks to a bottle called Afrin which is a decongestant spray. Forget the pills, this spray is a MIRACLE! She also has a humidifier and doesn’t remember having one since she was a kid and would put her face under it and let the mist gather on her brows and lashes. That was entertainment back then, folks.

Diana Elizabeth is an author, photographer, and obsessive thrift shopper. You can typically find her in the garden wrist deep in dirt, at a local estate sale or planning her next epic party. She continues to blog weekly.

I don’t know the exact medical term, but it was something like she burnt the nerves in her nose? Nerve and tissue damage.

Hope you feel better soon! Be CAREFUL with Afrin – my Mom used it for years, got addicted (to help her breathe) and it wasn’t good. When you are feeling better put down that bottle and get outside!

Hi Andi!! Bonjour! :) That is good to know – and I feel like I’ve heard that before! What happens if you get addicted? I am trying to sleep as much as I can when I can breathe but I know it says use it once every 10 hours. I look forward to getting the stuff “sucked out” next week and hopefully can say this surgery was worth it! :) xx
