Cross House Blessing
When I bought our home almost two years ago, my dear friend (and former President of the corporate company I worked for) bought me the Jan Barboglio Cross House Blessing as a housewarming gift.
I just have to say that Kim was one of the most influential in my life when I was discovering Christianity at the age of 25. I knew she was a Christian (something I think is very important that the world should know about you), and I started to ask her questions as I began reading, researching, and learning. She asked if I had ever seen the movie The Passion of the Christ. I said no, and the next day she dropped the DVD in its original wrapping off at my desk and said, “I had an extra one.” I knew she had gone out and bought one for me. She was at my baptism, I sat in her office the first day I returned from work after my wedding was called off three weeks before the set date and I sat there staring at her blankly with no words, only a face that was a cross between, “Seriously?” and “This has been one crazy journey.”
And she said something to me I’ll never forget. “That night was the best night of your future husband’s life,” she said.
So Kim is my everything special and wonderful to me so when she gifted this cross house blessing to me, I treasured it. Then I came across this post on one of my favorite home blogs and thought, hot dang, I need to put that on our tree!
So of course I did.
Now everyone will see it when they walk to our front door. I debated if we should put it in the front or the backyard grapefruit tree but Mr. Wonderful insisted on the front. Then I said, “What if someone steals it?” Then he said, “Then hopefully God blesses them.” See, he’s such a nice guy.
Diana Elizabeth needs to fix a hole in that tree since wood bees made their home in there too. Wood bees really make her cranky at all they destroy.
