If I did a Sunday best, this would be my outfit. Or for a shower, or business meeting, or a lovely brunch, OK this is my favorite new outfit. I went pretty happy crazy in front of my computer putting together an outfit when I saw Banana Republic’s new arrivals. I spotted this tunic which has the cutest bow sleeve details, it also comes in a dark navy (I think I need it!) and this lace pencil skirt made my jaw drop. It’s what my white skirt lace dreams are made of.
Speaking of dreams, so is this house, which belongs to my friend Lory, an entertaining blogger at To Have To Host and you can check out her home tour I featured on the blog a few weeks ago which was very popular – when you see it, you’ll understand why.
This might be my favorite outfit right now. The lace also comes in a shell top here, and a halter version of the satin tunic. The blue graphite color just speaks to me, as much as I love pink and will always gravitate toward it, shades of blue just move me. Never met a shade of blue or pink I didn’t love.
Have I ever told you the story of this Louis Vuitton I’m holding? It’s actually a small shoulder bag. I tuck in the straps and use it as a large clutch sometimes. My very first LV purchase was in college with a small wallet, my roommates were horrified I’d spend the money on a small “wallet” which was actually a business card holder (and I still have and use it, it’s in mint condition). I’m shocked over all these years I haven’t lost it yet since I often toss it in random places.
Then my first actual bag was this in college. While everyone was loving the pouchette (it was too small for me) I went for this and it’s been a staple. Kind of brings back a little bit of nostalgia for me and also proves those classic investments stand the test of time. Altho many LVs in my closet have come and gone, this one will always be my first real baby so I’ll probably have it when I’m a cute little old lady.

This was the first shoot of a very long day for Mr. Wonderful and I. We had 8 shoots to capture and we worked for about 10 hours that day! There’s nothing else I’d rather be doing during for my day job, er weekend job sometimes haha, so I really appreciate every moment I spend on it and grateful I have a supportive talented husband who gives up his Saturdays to help me. I remember starting off and being frustrated because I needed help but also didn’t expect my husband to help (he has a very demanding day job in medical device) and he asked, Well how do the bloggers do it? And I told him their husbands probably take their photos and he said, “Well teach me and I’ll do it,” he’s seriously the best. I’ve also found a happy place with how often I blog post and when we work, a schedule is easier so I don’t avoid a burn out like I did a few years back.

Isn’t it crazy we love something so much so we work so hard on it, but sometimes if we don’t find balance we’ll end up growing tired what we originally loved? It’s nuts! It’s like a crazy love of loving something and hating it at the same time, but I’ve also found there really is power in saying no, taking breaks and working on things you are excited on. It’s like how we spend our time, if we give it away, we lose time working on something else and so all your yeses should be the best!
I hope you are enjoying your spring wherever you are – in most places in the country it’s starting to warm up and you are feeling spring while we’re prepping for an extreme summer in a month or two! It’s OK, I have lots of inside house projects to work on, and it’ll just mean our photoshoot times will be even earlier, haha!
