hat temperature do you keep your thermostat on throughout the summer? I thought we were so normal with our home temperature of 74 during the day and 72 at night until a girlfriend said she liked how our home was “crisp” and another said she was always cold our house! Ha! Who knew? I’m always hot. I also wonder if it’s a true 72 because our house is larger and we have high ceilings in the expansion. *wink* What do you keep your thermostat at?

I also like to wear normal clothes not just summer clothes even though if it’s 107 outside. Maybe that’s why – I’m dressed like a fall day so I gotta crank the air down. I made a great attempt to get ready every day while in quarantine but once things opened back up I went back to every other day being a dress up day (doesn’t work well with productivity) so now I need to get back to getting ready. It is time to wear pants again.

The older I get, the higher the waist height on my pants get. *shrug* I have a pair a paper bag waist pants that sits higher than these and I joked I looked like Steve Urkel. But I like it! It’s so much more comfortable than a low rise, my underwear doesn’t stick out when I bend over, and my long torso looks more balanced when I tuck in a shirt, and well, everything is nicely sucked in with a high waist. I will never wear a pair that is a low rise again, it’s just never going to be my thing in the future. It’s crazy to think I’ve permanently said goodbye to certain trends, but maybe it’s time.

I did the chocker thing again, that was fun, won’t do it a third time. I own scrunchies right now, when they go back out of trend I won’t be picking them back up when I’m 60. I refused to get back into the overalls and tie dye trend so I’ll leave those trends stored in my elementary school day memory bank. I am going to live in high waisted jeans now and dresses, unless the day calls for more active activities on a hot day, then shorts. *wink* but give me all the high waisted jeans from here on out.

Mott & Bow gifted me a pair of their denim and I picked the Mom Jean – Mercer in Blanco (light blue version here), They are a comfy fit (not super tight), soft and stretchy – and not the stretchy where you need it to stretch in order to fit. They fit, and they stretch when you move. I suggest sizing down where it’s snug because it will loosen a little throughout the day. If you want a tighter pair, look for a skinny jean style. I love the mom jean style they are my kind of jeans, they have a high waist, don’t feel like leggings and I feel like I can move in them. If you’re unsure about the fits online, Mott & Bow will send you a complimentary second pair incase that you can return, on them.

I bought some fresh flowers at Trader Joe’s earlier this week, it always feels so wonderful to out them in vases around the house, the smallest things make me happy and are worth the expense especially now that we’re at home more. xx

Diana Elizabeth bought a new turned accent table for her plants for under $40 it comes in three finishes. The other table still has a plant on it, just in a different part of the room.

Diana Elizabeth is an author, photographer, and obsessive antique shopper. You can typically find her in her garden wrist deep in dirt, at a local estate sale or planning her next epic party.

We keep our temperature at 79 all day. I like it warm so sometimes I’ll turn off the A/C lol.
I love tucking everything in too! It makes me feel a bit more put-together. I’m also not a huge fan of overalls and tie-dye anymore. I just can’t see myself wearing it. I love having fresh flowers too but my cat, Henry, keeps eating them so fake flowers will have to do for now.

Cute pants! Everything looks good on you. High waist jeans are my fav. I basically got rid of all my other jeans. I’m with you on the tie dye and overalls.
