An entertaining closet for the ultimate hostess! Turned a spare closet into an entertaining closet for tablecloth organization and silver collection

The Entertaining Closet Party Pantry

T
his closet was built in the garden room and was intended to be the guest closet where we kept the Murphy bed linens, guest towels for the guest bathroom, and also additional storage for us. However, as time went on, a year to be exact, I realized that an entertaining closet would be much dreamer. The idea came after listening to a Ballard Designs Podcast and they mentioned an interior designer had an entertaining closet and I thought – WUT. I need one! And so, out went our winter coats (by donations and moving them around the house) and in went my tablecloths and placements which used to be stored in drawers.

Here is the post when we first decorated it and it was a guest closet only. It looked so clean for the time it was a guest closet but it quickly filled with random things and didn’t look pretty after a few months.

But today, I love how I can see everything now and this is located right by the dining room! Come take a look! Sources will be linked at the end of the post.

As you can see we still kept a lot of guest things in here – the queen duvet, four pillows, an extra blanket. The top basket has the guest room towels. The white trunks – I wish they could stack, they hold bedding, and beach towels. I do squeeze in a small vacuum that I love inside here too. But this really is how it looks today!

Most of my silver entertaining pieces come from antique stores, thrifting, and not everything is silver plated. But for the most part they are! I just keep anything entertaining related in here to make it easy to see what pieces I need and can grab to take to the dining room which is just steps away.

Since I don’t have a butlers pantry (MY DREAM) this works just fine. Maybe one day we can turn our mudroom/laundry room into a butlers pantry as well. So much has changed in all the rooms I am linking I need to do room updates soon! Probably this summer when I’m stuck inside trying to stay away from the heat.

I also utilize the buffet behind the dining room with napkins, napkin rings and other items. There is no wasted space in this house of ours!

What do you think? Could you use an entertaining closet? Or better yet, do you have a butlers pantry or entertaining space to store your items? Tell me!

Diana Elizabeth sees all that empty space and so she placed an order for more tablecloths and they are on their way. Her napkins go in the buffet behind the dining room table. Tour of that soon.
