Into the woods
Suede Cap: H&M / Hoodie: Splendid / Denim: Eunina / Bodysuit: NastyGal / High Tops: FitFlop (c/o)
We woke up to a crisp morning in Asheville, North Carolina – the destination for my little brother-in-law’s wedding. The next morning I skipped around outside because it was so refreshing to see the trees changing colors and feel the crisp air on my skin.
Isn’t it fun how excited we get over the fall sights? I think we all get so excited for a change of scenery. I realize I never noticed or embraced the transition of fall growing up in Northern California. It wasn’t until I’ve lived in Phoenix and from the inside everything outside pretty much looks the same year-round 90% of the time. Sometimes it just takes removing yourself from everyday element to appreciate the small things.
^^ This shot was all Benjamin. I had casually mentioned the log that spanned across the stream. He then proceeded to cut back the overgrown brush that took over the log and helped me get on. I’m not afraid of heights but I am terrified of them when it an unstable narrow platform 10 plus feet above running water. I scooted my booty across like crab walk style. I even went back the same way, I wouldn’t turn around.
Did Benjamin nail that shot or what? I’m telling you, I can teach anyone how to be a great photographer, and I’m not really good at teaching much but I’m so proud of my students over the years making a name for themselves in the industry!
^^ I have to mention these high tops by FlitFlop (c/o). They are so comfortable and I wore them on the long plane ride, and for the days we did a lot of walking. I haven’t worn high tops since 6th grade – white Reeboks to be exact. The FitFlop brand features footwear made for those who believe in comfort. I’m usually a size 8.5 in boots and sneakers but I’m wearing a size 8 which is my true size for pumps and sandals. They have so much toe and foot room to spread your feet. So if you need comfortable shoes, check them out.
Really tho, fall is my favorite season, they weather especially and the clothing. We left our cabin in Asheville to head to Hendersonville to another cabin which was adorable! It looks like it’s straight out of the movie The Hobbit or Twilight Saga. I prefer to pretend I was in Bella and Edward’s newlyweds cottage.
We stayed in the room at the top. Super cozy, we didn’t mind it one bit and there was a main house as well, the rest of the family stayed there while Benjamin and I stayed with his mom and dad.
The acorns were so pretty too – looks like a rich wood. I snuck one back and I planted it in a small pot in my kitchen, I want to see if it’ll grow.
Mossy paths! Oh the light was just dreamy in the woods and the texture and smells. Benjamin had a blast exploring the grounds as did I. It would house many in our family and the new family, we were staying a few nights for the wedding which took place in the clouds!
