17th Girl Gang Christmas Pajama Party

Girls pajama Christmas party annual, met through pageantry
Adonna Womens Long Sleeve 2pc Pant Pajama Set, JCPenney

I feel so blessed every year to be able to blog about this party and reflect on the evening, not just share the table setting with you, or the meal, but also just share a part of my life that is very important to me, friendship.

This was our 17th year which means I have hosted 17 of these fun parties and also shows how much growing up we have done together, 17 years is a long time from young adulthood in our early to mid 20s to now, late 30s and early 40s. So much life has happened between then and now, growth, and all I can say is, we made it! We have gone though so much and we are still here, celebrating Christmas together, making it a priority in our busy season, and showing up, not just Christmas but all the other times throughout the year.

So, I am excited to share with you our 17th annual Christmas pajama party and some of the details and just post this because my blog is my online journal.

I have our pics every year printed so I tried to display them. I’ll have more time next year to present them better but I can’t believe there are 16 photos there!

Lately I have found it much easier to take my iPhone photos I run though an IG filter to share with you on the blog since they look good enough and well, I think professional photos are becoming overrated lately on blogs and social and this is much easier for me! But yes the filtered images are not my typical editing style, but we did take the group photo on my “good camera.”

This is the same group I go to Vegas with, my girl gang! We all met through pageantry many years ago.

The blue glasses are vintage Wedgwood (similar on Etsy) my friend Vicky bought at an auction and asked if I wanted to buy them from her and of course I said yes!!!  They were in perfect condition!

Napkins are the organic cotton casual napkins from Pottery Barn I used a Zara napkin ring to make them into a bow.

Partridge in a Pear tree plates are vintage Avon (similar listing on Etsy) I thrifted a huge set with cups.

Bunny Williams for Ballard Designs plates I use year round on old ZGallerie chargers. The lace side plates are from Williams-Sonoma. Flatware from Ralph Lauren.

I made/provided the meal and the girls brought dessert! My gruyere Mac and cheese is always a hit, the chicken rotisserie is from Safeway, sweet potatoes is just store bought and microwaved, I made green bean casserole, easy stuffing, and the bread with cinnamon butter was from Dream Dinners, it was all so delish! And I didn’t burn or ruin anything oh my goodness! I finally did it at 41, I figured out timing and warming and it all worked out. I however do not feel ready to host Thanksgiving or anything but I did cook and my friends ate it and said it was good ;) And I mean they would totally still pay me a compliment because they are polite like that, but I know they loved it because I saw how empty their plates were!

Oh, also hi mom sorry I already opened my Christmas gift, but I knew what it was and I didn’t have room under the tree so I figured you’d like that I used it and am already enjoying it now! ;) Leopard Anthro blanket here

I purchased these totally cozy soft pajamas (now on sale!) for the girls that feel like a blanket but they are lightweight, from JCPenney! I was searching for pajamas and an ad came up on Google and when I saw the floral print, sage green with pink and red YES please! I love how we also match that pretty couch in the garden room. We are in size XS and small. They have short, regular, and tall.

We have never matched before over the 17 years and I have to say, matching is SO fun! We used to get same colors or different patterns in coordinating colors but matching is a blast.

It also makes for fun photos like this …

Asian chinese anties star pose

The Chinese aunties star pose! Haha! We did this a few years ago and thought why not do it again because it’s cute.

We shot this in my empty new master closet expansion that might be 90%  done by the time you read this.

Mr. Wonderful is such a great sport taking our photo!

After our gift exchange, and left right center (or left center right if that’s what you call it), Sommer won for the fourth time! We played 90s bingo.

This year I decided to go with a middle part with my hair, it’s funny because I really think about these things over the years! haha! Anyway, Merriest Christmas to you! Hug and kiss your friends because remember as much as you choose them, they choose you back! xx

A reel of the video clips from this season’s festivities, and it’s not over yet!
