I
‘ve been joking that I was made for home life, and well, here I am living that for a good while not by choice. I am both an introvert and extrovert – I want everyone over at my house. In the first few weeks of the quarantine life I did a lot around the house, from repainting my photo studio floors (it has not been touched up since we transformed it), to washing windows, wiping down outdoor furniture and tidbits of home repairs here and there.

I got a little carried away with my to-do list and a bit burnt out and I realized I can relax – I don’t have to be busy all the time. Maybe, we should be relaxing a bit more if we have that luxury? We do know this will one day end so we should make the most of the time we have.

I am thankful for moments around here, a garden to tend to, space, separate home office from my husband (haha). I am choosing gratitude when there’s a lot I could complain about. Being happy, grateful, doesn’t mean one isn’t realizing what’s happening around us or to those we love, my heart seems to go through ups and downs through this season. But, I still choose joy and pray through the tough times for myself, and on behalf of others.

Being home more has me looking around a lot. I decluttered indoors and out, studio, and closet. It was something I looked forward to when I returned from Taiwan. Is that odd to say I couldn’t wait to get home and purge?

While I’ve been home tossing things that are leaky, worn, or finding home solutions I thought I’d share some home decor purchases I’ve made that you’ll see on the blog soon. I have seen my home decor style change over the years, it’s been 8 years in our home and already two expansion in the past year (I tell you, being patient is so important to save up and I’m so glad we waited because I would not have liked what we did back then!). When I first bought our home, my style was a mix of industrial farmhouse with a cottage vibe. I lived with what I could afford to like and enjoyed it!

Home decor has been a creative way for me to express myself which is why I love it and it’s always changing and now I realize my style has changed to loving pleated draperies and bamboo roll up shades, chinoiserie, wallpaper, and touches of modern. I have fully, embraced and immersed myself into traditional style and fully realized it with pieces that are still here after all these years. Have you known your home style early on or has it changed for you as well?

Home is where the heart is and now that we’re home a lot, let’s bring in the things and make our surroundings beautiful. I can’t wait to show you how we’re slowly transforming parts of our home.
