Galentine’s Gang

The greatest of friends for over 17 years, we truly enjoy each other’s company and will find any excuse to get together — and make it fun.

This was our second Galentine’s Day (see our first here) and I’m not sure why we didn’t do it sooner, but I guess it’s only gotten more popular.

I make a delicious Trader Joe’s creamy chicken gnocchi soup (just 3 ingredients) and serve them in heart bowls from Amazon.

We bring gifts for each other, something small. Snacks, food, or beauty items. It’s just a fun gift exchange and we feel loved, and it’s so fun!

These little get togethers and gift exchanges really bond friends, I think. This year I decided the attire was cozy instead of dressy!

Look at that delicious dessert board! For gifts I found some vintage heart frames, a glass one and brass and printed photos of my friends kids in them in the frame. I thought about a photo of myself to be funny but let’s be real, I’d be replaced haha!

The glass heart pitcher was a thrift store find. The faux roses in pots are from Ballard Designs and usually go on my dining room wall on wall brackets but I decided to use them as decor.

I also cut out a lot of strips of paper to make into a heart garland. Tutorial here.

I showed them my master closet/dressing room. I always share personal news and projects with my best friends before social media. I want to make sure my friends feel like they get the inside info on my life first, to make them feel special. I just don’t like when people share their news on social to strangers before their closest friends I don’t get it! To me that means the online community is more important than their actual real in person community and what if someone misses the story or post? OK that’s just how I feel. It was so fun for me to share this project with them, they know the highs and lows of this and I was very excited to show them the progress.

I also bought these ribbon ceramic napkin rings at a thrift store. I thought I’d use them for Christmas but didn’t, so Galentine’s Day it is!

I love having a sparkling cider for every girl at their place setting. It just looks so cute and personal.

I found those etched rose glasses at an estate sale for such a steal a few years ago. I think it was like $2.50 each and I bought them all. The woman they belonged to was 104 and still alive!

We headed back into my closet to take these fun photos and we couldn’t figure out how to make a heart with the 5 (out of 6 of us) but we figured something out. This makes me feel like it’s very 90s vibe. We don’t take anything too seriously, fun is what it’s all about.

Happy Galentine’s Day! Hug your friends, tell them you love them and show them in your love language! xx
