IKEA Ivar (DIY hack) / 24″ x 18″ Parisian Life Art Print by Kelsey McNatt from Minted (c/0)
Styling a bookcase needs to be just as functional as it is beautiful. Since my office is about 15 x 10 feet, space is very limited so I want to utilize every inch with reference materials, while also being pretty!
If it doesn’t have purpose, or it isn’t pretty, my rule is to donate it.
I added a Parisian watercolor by Kelsey McNatt from Colorado, one of Minted’s Design Challenge Winners. This is a limited edition print of only 350 in the size I purchased which makes it very unique! I’m sure you’re not surprised I picked a watercolor, and that it was a place in Europe.
This was painted when Kelsey was in Paris, she was inspired by the streets and the homes that over looked the River Seine. Check out more limited edition artwork on Minted.com. It came printed and framed – the site is so easy to use, you can click different frames to see what style works with the print and your home.
Tosca Storage Baskets keep my favorite gardening and home books and also antiques. I also display my cloth covered albums from our wedding and overseas vacations so I can access and share them quickly with visitors.
The rice baskets at the bottom of the shelf hold photography odds and ends and my knitting supplies.
And there you have it.
I also think I’ve found the last piece to my office, the chair, ok now there are two I fancy:
Villa Gramercy Club Chair, $809
or
Villa Quinn Tufted Arm Chair, $628
Leaning towards the last, but gosh that blue looks so darling. I also must admit there are other things in the home I’d like to refresh as my style has progressed, so my decision making might be slower than usual – which I’m sure Mr. Wonderful doesn’t mind. He likes to encourage me to be on a “saving spree” which I think is always a great idea!
