In my mind I’m blogging with a New York or New Jersey accent. I’m not quite sure what it is but I kind of sound like The Nanny. Anyway, Happy 2025!!
I hosted an intimate New Year’s party at home mob theme. It was intimate because most invitees couldn’t find a babysitter to watch their kids on a popular night, or sick and/or the babysitter. So if you want a big NYE party I would suggest, plan it 2 months in advance (unlike me) or have a room for the kids to be in with an older kid who doesn’t have NYE plans because it’s not cool yet. But you know what, intimate parties are the BEST because you have time to really talk to your guests instead of visiting. And so you invite all your friends but a small group can make it and it works out just as it should!
No matter how many I put in the same amount of effort because I love the creativity and I want every guest to feel special. Plus, my parents were in town.
Dad looked like a mob boss!

Everyone looked so good, the accents were great too. You’ll have to watch my IG stories highlights if you want to see the accents. Oh wait I forgot I can actually embed them in the blog! I pay for that service.
Putting up these streamers took a lot of work (I am really thinking in my mind in an accent as I type this!!) I was up and down the ladder constantly but it was worth it!
Also gotta have the black and whites!! With my pretzel cigarettes I made, see the reel here:
With a bigger party that’s less formal (no sitting dining time) I like using fun paper plates! It’s easier clean up AND also you can decorate with them! These NYE scalloped paper plates were so cute too! Also the napkins too! I bought a few fringe items and napkins from Hester & Cook. I also bought a lot from Temu which is great if you can plan a few weeks ahead. Nearly everything on Amazon is also on Temu.
I ordered 3 pizzas from Streets of New York and made two charcuterie boards, two garlic breads and some mushroom pastries. And lots of bubbly and drinks.
Some photos off my phone. I loved the pics of Meagan with her hot rollers, I wish she left them in but they were just her prep as she helped me prep. She’s practically my cohost for everything. She comes early and helps me set up and we laugh and take videos and photos before guests arrive. She’s been my best friend for almost 20 years!Â
If you made it this far, happy new year! I hope you have a lovely year ahead, whether 2024 was one you loved or one you can’t wait to have behind you, I hope this new year brings you health and happiness. Cheers!
