I love rose medallion however some vintage finds cannot be used for food safely, so I purchased some newer ones made in the same style to use when I entertain. Then I decided to swap my blue and white plates on the wall with my new vintage rose medallion!
[cap_text full=”no” size=”40″]H[/cap_text]ow amazing to be able to eat and wash this vintage Chinese rose medallion style in the washing machine and use in the microwave thanks to these new versions. I set the table, looked around and decided to hang my vintage plates on the wall swapping them with the blue plates. I can swap them back but there were some additional holes made so that won’t be the most fun thing having to fill them, but sometimes a bit of change is a good thing!
This was screaming grandmillennial and I had to take some photos before my guests arrived – we ordered Chinese takeout. I used to describe my style as grand millennial but I’m not fully that, but maybe a mixture. Anyway, I think we can all appreciate how stunning this collection is.
I picked these flowers the night before when it was raining right from my kitchen garden! They are from my rose tree and zinnias that were fading in the garden. I love the color palette. The Zinnias though are tough – like they are so easy to grow by my goodness the bugs and the nasty leaves this season, I am having a rough time with them but I cut off the heads and this works fine. Any tips on bug free Zinnias?
I thrifted the silver bowls and I need one more.
I found the bamboo placemats at Home Goods but I think there is similar on Serena and Lily. The bamboo rings on the napkins were for curtain rings or something at SAS Fabrics and I think I paid $.25 for a bundle of 4!
Each setting has their own tea light lamp, I won these mercury glass tea light lamps a local online auction. You shouldn’t get them wet by the way – the mercury will melt right off. But I hear it depends on the way they apply it some are just a spray. This is for sure vintage and will melt right off.

Did you catch the chopstick rest? It is a garden hat! These are Japanese chopstick rests my mom gave me from Japan that she was either gifted or she bought them from Japan (she’s been a few times and she can speak Japanese too) and a few of them are finds I got at Daiso, also made in Japan.
Since we were having our little friends over, I had chopsticks for them, a bit more kid friendly.
The leopard salt and pepper shakers are from H&M a long time ago and I have them in two colors. I love fun SP shakers and I have a lot of different ones but these go with so much after all, leopard is a neutral – haha!
I am a bit obsessed with how the tablescape came out. I mentioned I needed another silver bowl for florals, since I needed one more floral setting I used Benjamin’s baby cup!

The crystal basketweave glasses were from Pottery Barn and they discontinued them which made me so sad but then I found who really made them and ordered some off Amazon! They are heavy and so elegant, a must have for every home, really! You can also buy the pitcher too!
