Nick Carraway’s Cottage in Great Gatsby

Finally was a happy little girl and Mr. Wonderful took me on a date night to see The Great Gatsby, one of my favorite classics.

I was worried Daisy would drive me absolutely nuts as she did in the original with Robert Redford, but thankfully she didn’t.  However, I felt like some delivery of the lines were not as effective as they were in the classic.  And, that’s about all the movie critic you’ll get out of me, I still really loved the movie, it was so visually beautiful and they did an excellent job with the remake.

I pretty much squealed when I saw first glimpse of Nick Carraway’s little cottage, nestled between two mansions.  Gosh I wish most of the movie took place in there!  It makes me want to plant some climbing roses in the front of our home now.  The inside was just as cute too!  As soon as I came home I had to goggle image shots but this was all I could find.  Isn’t this darling?

Diana Elizabeth and Mr. Wonderful said they’d rather live in a tiny little cottage than a mansion any day.  They have a love for tiny homes with character.

    Hello Diana Elizabeth!
my name is Kym and I just watched The Great Gatsby! I agree with you that the Robert Redford version is the best. I too am a lover of cottages. I recently bought and renovated a small cottage on a lake almost three years ago. It has been a dream of mine for quite some time and through the blessings of Christ it was realized in 2010. In the movie, Nick is sitting in the kitchen and there is a shot of his kitchen sink. I have a sink exactly like it. We (you and I) need to find more pictures of this place. I think you could be my new best friend. Many blessings to you!

How fun! I kept scouring the web for more images, but couldn’t find any! :( Maybe they will do a home tour in a magazine, that would be really awesome.

Adorable! And I feel the same – I just said, God, I’d love to find a small, charming home (with nice amenities) and I would be perfectly happy in one.
