Grand Teton National Park: Traveling with Lightweight Ergonomic Shoes
Sweater: Banana Republic, wearing size small / Capris: J.Crew (similar, and here, these are cute) / Scuba Sneakers: FitFlop (c/o)
We’ve been doing a lot of walking, per usual during any travel trip. I’m such a planner for outfits, I try the entire outfit on with shoes and I have every outfit on a Post-It. I write down the weather and I look up the destination on Google Images so I can plan outfits accordingly – again, duties of my job and I love it! But I do this because I have limited space in my suitcase and would you believe it when I tell you my parents insisted I pack everything in a CARRY ON for 8 days? I took up 2 carry ons and my mom and dad shared a carry on! They are truly amazing travelers.
In the past two years I haven’t traveled without a pair of FitFlops packed – see North Carolina, Switzerland, Prague, Sweden, and Victoria. I always bring a pair as my go-to shoe when I know I am walking a lot and I have so many pairs to go with any travel scenario – from gardens to a float trip! Obviously you don’t have to use them only for travel as they are luxuries for your feet for every day!
I packed two pairs of FitFlops, including these new scuba sneakers for our chilly adventurous day going down the Snake River in Jackson, Wyoming. I was a bit afraid of my photography gear getting wet so we put them in a ziplock bag juuuuust incase. Always pack ziplock bags, you can use them for a zillion things, including covering the hotel remote.

^^ Yes I added a feather clip in my hair I bought at the gift shop at Yellowstone. My dad wanted me to wear one and so I figured why not wear it this day! I mean really where else can you wear it? I might try to bring it back to the desert life.
I wanted comfy pants and pulled these old capris out of my closet. I thought about leggings but I really wanted to wear pants. Glad I kept them for our day of walking and checking out scenes around Jenny Lake and the views of the Grand Tetons.
I also have been wearing my new FitFlop white sneaks in Rapid City, South Dakota, the start of this trip –
They are such an upgrade from my typical white sneaks with these FitFlop bow leather slip-ons, so cute – and comfortable.
You can see they go with everything and I’ve been wearing them non-stop.
Here are a few of my favorite FitFlops as of late – I have these on my wishlist, how cool are the stud sneakers? I also own the slides and the high tops below.
1 / 2 / 3 / 4 (certain colors on sale!) / 5 / 6
Dress: Free People / Leather bow sneakers: FitFlop (c/o) / Bag: India Hicks / Hat: Brooklyn Laurent (via Tenth Street) / Earrings: Kendra Scott / Nanogram cuff: Louis Vuitton
But the scuba sneakers are super cute too and so perfect for days like today.
If you’ve never ordered a pair of FitFlops, I have found that my boot/flip flop size I order a half size down (Benjamin found they were true to size for him). I’m a size 8 in FitFlop where I’m usually an 8.5 in boots or sneakers. There is just so much room for your toes to wiggle in FitFlops so check your sizing on the chart (they list measurements in cm). If you want that incredibly comfy and cute shoe for whatever you need to do – these are so much better than a basic athletic sneaker (no offense to anyone!) They are ergonomic and cute – and did I mention lightweight – which is so perfect for travel!
