The office just keeps evolving! I’m so excited to hang artwork on this wall that looked lonely. I moved the single framed map of the Ashford Castle grounds to another part of my office and decided this corner needed more love. Thanks to my friends at Minted who offered to send some framed artwork my way, I created a gallery wall.
My office theme is about travel – 90% of my photos are travel related so I wanted to include prints that encourage me to look to nature and compliment the theme. I wanted to be able to look at them and be inspired and calmed since it’s on a wall I face every day. You may already know my love for pineapples, and I thought the “Let’s Get Lost” print was a nice touch and reminder. The serene beach scene is from Malibu, California and the cactus was shot in the California desert – and also reminds me of Arizona.
The art prints on Minted have a limited run of 350 of each size which makes the artwork so unique!
When it came to picking different frames, you can preview the frames with the artwork. I looked at textures and made note on sizing. I wanted to keep the space airy and light so my eyes can rest when I’m taking a break from the busy graphics on my desktop.
I used Photoshop to size the potential artwork before purchasing. I know that can be a little crazy but I’m a graphic designer, it’s what I do! If you can’t do that, you can print out the webpage and tape it on wrapping paper cut to the size you are thinking of getting in order to get a visual.
I think my office with my new chair/throne/command center looks complete! The frame above the bookshelf is from Minted as well. It’s called Parisian Life. I’m also noticing my bookshelf is suddenly busier since the last time I shared it. Perhaps it’s time for a cleanse! I’m a home decor and garden book hoarder – the struggle is real. I’m happy to report since I took this photo I cleaned up my office and donated a few things including my Twilight books (wah!) but it’s important to me to feel like I only have what I need on hand.
I am also very ready for Christmas. There is a single empty picture frame on my pink tree waiting for a photo from our latest holiday session to go inside. I’ve been collecting a frame for each year since we got married!
Do you love my chair? I am crazy in love with it. I put it together myself because I was too anxious to wait for Benjamin to come home and help me (ok, I just screwed the legs on, but it’s a heavy chair).
I also had to temporarily set up a clothing rack in the corner for my furry jackets. Just something I had from a previous shoot but also like having up because it look so glamorous. It’s blocking one of my office doors so now we have to use the other door but I’m fine with it! Mr. Wonderful thinks it’s a little crazy but the corner is slowly becoming the Christmas present pile.
Thanks Ricki for the birthday gift, I love my knit metallic pillow! I saw it on a modeling shoot with Ricki (she styled) and this pillow was on a couch and I swooned over it and Ricki said, “It can be your birthday present, take it home.” Yay!
Check out Minted for their minted art, home, gifts and stationery goods.
Those are the most recent home office updates! What do you think about the prints?
