When I was a sophomore in college, my minor was political science. I thought I wanted to be a White House correspondent. Today, please don’t ask me anything regarding politics or any one who holds office in the White House. As I drowned in learning about politics, the good thing was that I met Dan, my TA who became a good friend of mine. Like a big brother to me, Dan gave me plenty of advice regarding all the losers I dated in college – no, no, no bitterness, just plain truth. Dan would tell you the same. And, so would my dad.
I have many wonderful memories with Dan, his protective big brotherly love of listening to me complain, giving me good advice, and just making good memories. I was so happy that he found the love of his life, Becca, a smart girl, from U of A. It was years ago when I remember hearing all about her. When I met her, instantly, I fell in love with her. Becca is ridiculously happy. She makes Dan a better man, and she is everything Dan was looking for, for like, ever. While the two returned to their home state of Minnesota and started their family, they came out to Tucson to visit family over the holidays and asked me to capture their precious family.
Words can’t describe how I absolutely love and feel honored to capture memories for old friends.
Love you Becca and Dan! Feel free to drop Gabby off with me anytime, I’ll braid her hair and we’ll have princess parties. I’ll turn her into a little me (Dan, I know you want this).
Diana Elizabeth remembers one year when it was her birthday and Dan made her a cinnamon roll and put a green candle in it and sang happy birthday to her. It was simple, like the good old college days.
