This was my first time ever being on a podcast. This was my first time publicly talking about the hardest time in my life and how that transformed me and pushed me in a new direction. Through hardship comes change, through loss, trauma, something jolts you and uproots your life and suddenly you have to reinvent yourself – and that’s what I touch upon in this entrepreneur podcast.
I talk about why I started a graphic design boutique on the side, how I would describe myself, how my parents influenced me and of course the life changing thing – the broken engagement that really changed the trajectory of my life, career into where I am now! Terrible things can actually be some of the best things that happen to you.
I also talk about my severe burnout and how I avoided it. And what my defining moment is.
I share this podcast not because I think I’m great. I just want to share my story to tell you how I did it, how I left corporate America and how I networked. Amani’s podcast called The Amani Experience Podcast is amazing, he interviews creatives and asks questions that allows every creative an opportunity to share their journey and story as an entrepreneur. I love hearing other’s stories and obstacles, it’s like a speaker panel at a conference. (Listen here)
The best advice I’ve ever been given – which to me was stop talking. I’ll explain it in the podcast.
I take about what I did to establish to myself that I was a photographer and how many buckets I have for income to make a full-time living.
A huge thank you to my girlfriend Carissa (an OC wedding photographer) who introduced me to Amani. Always appreciate how we connect each other and support one another. Check out the show notes below if you want to skip to specific part.
