Protecting our Home and Loves
Thank you Onelink by First Alert for sponsoring this post. Add smart protection to your home with the Onelink Smart Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarm.
Now that the expansion is near compete – and complete enough to shoot our campaigns in, we’re finishing up the short punch list. As we plan on moving in furniture that has been sitting in my photo studio before Black Friday, I realized we didn’t think of a smoke detector in that space.
The expansion is 425 square feet of living space and guest room area. I mentioned it to Benjamin if we should install a smoke detector in the new room and he said, yes we probably should, which is perfect because I was able to work with First Alert and show you the Onelink product we’re installing in the new room.
This was perfect timing as I came across the Onelink Smart Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarm, a 2-in-1 alarm that protects against the threats of smoke and carbon monoxide. Thankfully there is a battery-powered option since we didn’t plan in advance – there is also a hardwired version.
One of the things that made me gravitate toward the Onelink Smart Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarm was that it looked sleek in design. It is under 6″ in size and also blends in nicely within a home, it doesn’t look like an eyesore like some smoke alarms.
You can see it go through the test alarm in different colors and voice alerts so you know it is working. You can also then set up mobile connection through the Onelink Home App.
If you have Alexa, check out the Onelink Safe & Sound that has premium built-in speaker and Alexa services. You can play music, trigger Alexa commands, and protect your home and those you love from fire and carbon monoxide.
You don’t have to place the alarm on the actual ceiling, but if installed on the wall, it should be no further than 12 inches from the ceiling. It’s so beautiful it just blends into any room.
If the alarm senses smoke or carbon monoxide, it will give a notification with a voice alert, letting you know the type and location danger in your home. If you aren’t home, the alarm will notify users by sending an alert to the user’s smart phone so you know your home is protected whether you are home or away.
We have plenty of light in this area and it’s so gratifying to know we’re going to use this space for lots of photos for the blog, entertaining with friends, and also know everyone we love and have in our home is safe and sound.
