Now that the expansion is near compete – and complete enough to shoot our campaigns in, we’re finishing up the short punch list. As we plan on moving in furniture that has been sitting in my photo studio before Black Friday, I realized we didn’t think of a smoke detector in that space.

The expansion is 425 square feet of living space and guest room area. You don’t have to place the alarm on the actual ceiling, but if installed on the wall, it should be no further than 12 inches from the ceiling. It’s so beautiful it just blends into any room.

If the alarm senses smoke or carbon monoxide, it will give a notification with a voice alert, letting you know the type and location danger in your home. If you aren’t home, the alarm will notify users by sending an alert to the user’s smart phone so you know your home is protected whether you are home or away.

We have plenty of light in this area and it’s so gratifying to know we’re going to use this space for lots of photos for the blog, entertaining with friends, and also know everyone we love and have in our home is safe and sound.
