We’re hosting Easter for the first time this weekend. It just so happened since my in-laws are in town we already have family here and I thought any of my besties who didn’t have much of any sort of family plans could come on over and hang out with their littles.
I shopped a ton for Easter decor and found such fun things at the 99 cents store – like REALLY cute little carrot and bunny shaped Easter eggs and a few Peter Rabbit inspired Easter egg hunt signs from Marshalls. I guess the spending freeze week taught me a thing or two about saving money. The hilarious thing was I had a handful of Easter stuff and I was at checkout this lady was tagging Easter stuff with the red clearance sticker because Easter was a few days away. She grabbed things out of my hand, gave it a new red tag and handed it back to me. I was like, can you discount this too? And I handed her an Easter item and she did.
I then asked her if I could follow her around the store LOL. She ran off too quickly to hear me.
I want to tell you these shots were all taken by a 7-year-old. Avery belongs to one of my best friends Michelle, she’s Michelle’s mini but I tell you she’s like my little bff. I just LOVE her. When I left to the airport she just hugged me so tight and so long and we just chatted how much fun I had and how much I love her and can’t wait to see her again. She is getting a LOT of Auntie’s things ;)
I feel this way about all of my best friends kids, the depth of love I have for my friends just bleeds to the kiddos and it’s probably how grandmas must feel, like it’s your own blood – ’cause that’s how my friend are to me, like sisters. Benjamin feels the same too, we chat about our friends kids all the time and they just make us so happy, we are looking forward to having them over for our little Easter egg hunt, I mean they are only this little for a bit.
Avery took these shots of me in San Diego and this is going to be my Easter dress. It’s from Lilly Pulitzer. I’m in a size 4 (could probably size down) but it’s nice and flowy, some room for some food.
Speaking of food, I forgot I have to take care of that so after racking my brain with what to make and all the hot and cold stuff I think I’m actually going to just put in an order at Boston Market and pick it up. I’ve never ordered from there before but it looks and sounds great to me. I might just add my own Gruyere Mac and cheese because everyone loves that.
I hope you all have a great Easter weekend, whether you are hanging out chilling out or being with people. I sure wish I was back at the beach with this babe and also wishing she could just cook my Easter meal too, haha. Happy weekend my friends.
