Powering through the day with Healthy Choice

May is Women’s Health month – which is great timing since I’m talking a lot about health, sharing my own experiences from my gut, food intolerances and trying to get back on track with feeling good! Now that my mornings are longer, I’m feeding my body with more protein so I don’t crash and burn.

I eat like a bird, small but often, and since my (now long-gone) pageant days I know protein is really the key ingredient to make you feel full – and give you fuel. Healthy Choice Power Bowls consist of a combination of nutrient-dense vegetables, proteins and whole grains packaged in new bowls made of plant-based fiber instead of plastic. These frozen meals are inspired by Korean, Cuban and Latin cuisines: Adobo Chicken Bowl, Korean-Inspired Beef Bowl, Cuban-Insired Pork Bowl & the Chicken Sausage & Barley Bowl.

Pretty perfect for those active, on the go, and need some power to get through the day!

In each Healthy Choice Power Bowl there are over 16g of protein and 6-8g of fiber. My former personal trainer would definitely applaud this. This makes it so much easier to just eat and not think about what you have to make – for those of us who are kitchen-challenged. Also every Power Bowl is made with a good balance of nutrient-packed veggies, natural proteins and natural meat ingredients and whole grains.

The Korean-Inspired Beef Bowl is tender braised all natural USADA choice beef (I am a huge beef lover) and has shiitake mushrooms and veggies with brown and red rice, quinoa and black barley. Yummmmm! This power bowl reminds me one of our favorite forbidden rice bowls from a local restaurant we have here. It has a spice kick too so just be prepared – Benjamin didn’t even have to add any spice like he normally does to his dishes, this was perfect for his tastes, he loved it! You can see the spice level on the outside packaging with the chili’s, too cute.

When it comes to frozen foods, Healthy Choice is the only major brand in its category that can call 100 percent of its products “healthy” as approved by the FDA. So eat up, get some fuel and may you be efficient and power through your days!
