Patriotic American Flag Fire Hydrant

Our water line was moved from our neighborhood alley way to the front of our yard, resulting in a fire hydrant as part of our lawn! Wah! It was bright yellow and something I was not thrilled about. Such an eye sore.

So, we did what any cheeky creative person would do, we enlisted the help of our neighbor Kristen. Her house has a fire hydrant as well and she painted hers a cute dalmatian and she painted another neighbor’s a C3PO. Is it legal? Well, according to Next Door where our neighbors all can chat with one another on message boards, it is. A local firefighter chimed in to say he loves them and they don’t mind them as long as fire fighters can still access and spot the fire hydrant.

I found these pinwheel paper straws while in Vegas at a store and I am one of those people who just buys things and finds an occasion later – like sitting on your patriot fire hydrant.
