Contemporary English Garden Patio

The patio needed a little refresh with patio furniture so I wanted to share the look I was going for – Contemporary English Garden!

A
nd here we are – my granny chic, grandmillennial style small patio makeover!  Though we painted the house white and black I hadn’t touched this patio because I wasn’t sure what to do with it but it just didn’t feel right so I waited until I knew what I wanted to do.

Comfortable seating – black and white 3 seater outdoor couch

The Target Fernhill Threshold patio furniture fit perfectly! We already have the different seating arrangements in the kitchen garden area and I saw the three seater and thought that would be perfect if I ever needed to move the furniture around or cluster them all together!

Smaller feminine teak dining patio table

I wasn’t sure of the vision until I found the wood table, the curve in the legs made me giddy with excitement and that’s when I knew I had to have it, even though it was smaller. I don’t eat outside often so I wasn’t worried about scaling down the dining furniture and while it felt so much smaller it immediately felt it was the right fit. I did have to move the lantern to the middle (hired a handyman) and put all the lights on a dimmer switch – finally!

Lightweight, stackable patio chairs

I decided to buy four chairs instead of as to not overcrowd the space. I can pull in chairs from other areas. These chairs are similar to wedding chairs, in fact you may see them at an outdoor event near you. They come in four color variations and I just love them for our space and the romantic, unique vibe they give – and they stack and are made of plastic. Though they are about $100 a piece, you can hose them off without worrying about rust!

A scalloped jute rug

The rug from India was originally for the laundry room (which I need to still reveal with the new wallpaper) but it was oversized and I am so thankful it worked in this space! So I have two of them but they are just the cutest darling rugs that I am so proud I was able to find on my own on eBay. They had more expensive ones on Etsy and I was horrified by the price and the ones in eBay were a total steal!

Leopard bench as a coffee table

I don’t recall how I came across the leopard bench but I was doing some google searching and I typed in leopard. If you ever don’t know what to look for, just add in a fun word like an adjective or noun. This popped up and I knew I had to have this leopard garden bench and would use it coffee table!

I hope you like the look! If you have any questions please leave a comment below. Hope you get to hang out with me here soon – or well, when it cools back down. I will share photos when the new wall is done. For now I need to decide how to decorate that back wall…there are so many possibilities! *wink*

The backyard is about to change – see the white painted fence? Well it’s coming down and we are planning to put up a cinderblock wall that matches the rest of our property. Fingers crossed this all works out, it seems we have found a tradesman and we just need to make sure he does the work!

I’ll keep you posted of course!

PATIO BEFORE

This was the most recent photo. You might recall how it has come a very long way over the past ten years, the last biggest patio remake was when I collaborated with Home Depot and the patio was still blue (and they gifted me the patio dining set). This area has changed gradually over the past 10 years just adding on slowly as budget allows. We are wait and save for the project until we can afford it people – and also once I can make up my mind what I want to do.

I sold the old patio furniture. I felt was a bit oversized (nice and so comfy) to a friend and they love it and enjoy it with their kids. The glass top was very hard for me to maintain, so if you live in a dusty place like we do in Phoenix, I would suggest a glass top.
