Murphy Bed Seating Area
It’s not as if I need this list – I certainly won’t forget that these things need to get done and there is no priority to this madness, just that they need to be done eventually.
Do you have one similar?
I’m now onto changing hinges so they all match with the ball tip hinges like the rest of our home. I mean, that’s next on the list, along with the 20 other things I need to prioritize.
One room that has been neglected but needed some love was Benjamin’s office once we moved the queen bed which was for guests, into this Murphy bed area in the garden room expansion.
We never knew what to do with the space in front of the Murphy bed when not in use (which is 95% of the time). Here’s an inspirational set up. I say inspirational because this is not permanent since we have an actual seating area in the garden room and having two couches like this makes us look like we have theater seating in one room haha! But there’s an idea if we need more seating.
This would be a great set up in front of a Murphy bed if this was just the room itself, an office, etc. I don’t push furniture up against walls, I like to float them in the room.
But, it’s inspirational and we set it up, and then moved this leather couch (c/o Sofamania) to Benjamin’s office which is a dark gray ceiling and walls. Use discount coupon code for sofamania.com Dianaelizabeth15 for a 15% discount!
I found that gate leg table at a local thrift store – $65! I was so excited because it was in near perfect condition. I was looking for a foldable table for the space. Here’s a beautiful gateleg table from Ballard Designs I almost purchased.
The wood coffee table was made by my dad, he made it as an anniversary gift for my mom and I never liked the table as a child since it was wobbly and I couldn’t lean on it, it actually frightened me. Since I’m the oldest, I got my solo big girl apartment post college first so I grabbed whatever free furniture I could – like the 21-year-old starting out adults do. I know my brother was bummed I took it first but well, first born rights.
I think this setup would look lovely if we left it, but this couch had a better purpose in Benjamin’s office. I’d photograph it in there but it’s not styled, complete or by any means blog worthy yet.
But he’s happy with the way it looks and we’ll let him work in peace because he often doesn’t love when I voice my decorating opinion in his space when he needs it for functionality opposed to decorative purposes.
I however, need everything for decorative and inspirational purposes. Good thing I have the rest of the house.
Diana Elizabeth is feeling 95% better after her septoplasty. Hurray for being able to breathe. She’s still not convinced about it being worth it even though she can breathe better because boy that recovery was terrible. She’s working on a blog post to share, but she needs more time to disregard an overly emotional post. ;)
