Loving the Midwest
I’ve never been to the Midwest. Honestly.
Here’s the thing – I’m from California and basically when you’re from California you pretty much think all you need to visit is the West Coast and maybe the East Coast. I’ve been on both coasts and the south and been pretty content with that. After all, not much reason to visit the Midwest.
Until I married Mr. Wonderful. His roots are from Champaign, Illinois and so we had our second wedding reception with his side of the family this past Memorial Day weekend and let’s say this, it was amazing. I also realized that Monday marked the one year since our first date – a lot can happen in a year, or even just a matter of months.
If any of you live in the Midwest, I envy you. I fell in love with it. It was beyond gorgeous, and I heard we just got some good weather because for the most part it’s cloudy or overcast but I don’t care. Those fields, barns, the green, the hospitality, oh my! I can’t wait to return.
After visiting the old family farm, the family farmland and going through old photos, I just had to share Mr. Wonderful’s senior photo. That’s his dog, and yes, he’s wearing a vest with bullets and he’s holding a gun and wearing boots. See how styled sessions have always been in? So cool. He’s pretty proud of this photo too and swears it’s his favorite photo of himself, ever. So. Awesome.
Diana Elizabeth has her LASIK appointment scheduled in mid-June and will be so excited to wake up being able to see.
