Kitchen Cooking + Clean up Timesaver
#PalmoliveMultiSurface #CollectiveBias
Prayers have been answered, the husband is no longer starving and I’m whipping up great meals in the kitchen! I’ve found a way to be in and out of the kitchen quickly thanks to two things – portioned meal delivery service and a quick clean up routine.
Look at that photo – three things going on the gas stove, I’ve turned into a cooking machine. The upside to cooking, seeing the fresh ingredients and putting it into my body. The downside, the abundance of cleanup from food prepping – lots of little bowls plates, pots and pans. I try to read the steps ahead to see if I can mix ingredients together to lessen the bowls and it helps, but every meal takes quite a bit of kitchenware and cooking utensils.
On my way to an audition last week, I stopped into Walmart in Scottsdale to tackle my shopping list and picked up the Palmolive® Multi Surface dish soap which eliminates 99.9% of bacteria (*staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella enterica and E. coli (157:H7)) from dishes and hard non porous kitchen surfaces.
Sometimes the mundane chores need a little pizazz in your toolbox – like cute gloves and bright sponge colors. It’s the little things that hold my attention, just like the cute school supplies I had when I was a child or my pink toolset for my handwork around the house. Whatever you need to do to make something more fun, do it and don’t feel guilty about it.
Eliminating 99.9% bacteria means it is acceptable for me to continue to prep on the kitchen counter like so:
Is that horrifying? The directions were to pat the meat with a dry paper towel and season, I just close to lay it on the counter since I knew I would wipe it afterwards.
My need for efficiency is always finding a solution – this is why we have weekly ready portioned food deliveries, grocery deliveries and an easy kitchen clean up routine.
Clean up goes like this after cooking: Plate the meal, rinse dishes, load dishwasher, wipe down counters and stove. If I cook, sometimes Mr. Wonderful cleans while I’m cooking for speedier clean up which is great when I’m starving.
I cleaned up the kitchen in under five minutes and was off to eat our dinner over one of my favorite shows – Walking Dead! I know you’re wondering how I can eat anything while watching that show – it’s because I know it’s just BBQ sauce, which makes me hungrier, ha! Did you watch the season finale? Ah!

Photography BTS: Wondering how I captured the slow motion blur? I set up my camera on a tripod, low ISO, aperture was set to F/10 and wanted a slow shutter speed (about 1 second) so I could catch myself in action. I used a remote control to trigger.

You’re really making me want to try the grocery delivery thing, but the old fashioned cook in me says I like to improvise WAY too much! Great clean up tips and I have to say that you are becoming very domestic. I bet hubby is literally eating it up….. xoxo
