Silky Cashmere travel top

phoenix-fashion-blog-blogger-travel-comfy-clothes-7Sweater: Firth (I’m in size S) / Earrings: Kate Spade (no longer available, similar, and tortoise)
Jeans: AG Denim / Cross necklace: Jennifer Zeuner / Nail polish: NARS Dovima

As soon as I sit in my seat on the plane, I’m out usually before we get to, “Now you may turn on your large electronic devices.”  Somehow I’ve managed to train myself to just sleep on flights to get there quicker, kinda like Christmas.  So, finding comfy clothes to travel in is a must-have.  And you already know my sweat pant/jogger obsession.  If you don’t wear them, I think you are missing out on the luxury that is called, I can eat whatever I want because I have stretchy pants on.

I found this knit silk-cashmere sweater by Firth (found only on Gilt).  It’s 85% silk and 15% cashmere, hello, must have.  I am still mad at myself for not buying the J.Crew cashmere sweat pant last winter so if they come back out this fall, you bet that’ll be on my birthday wish list.

Since Gilt is a flash sale site, chances are it’s no longer up, but you can click the link and then do a search for “Firth” and see what else comes up. I just can’t as I done with my budget until the end of this month, womp womp. So you just buy yourself something cozy and share it with me.

I didn’t want to wash my hair, so I threw it up in a loose top pony then wrapped it around (no bun round or anything, my hair is fairly long).  Then I used another thicker elastic and pulled some hair to loosen it up.

I also didn’t photoshop my face – my  Sony NEX-5R (c/o) has this feature where it makes your skin look flawless, I just don’t take it off that mode.  I probably shouldn’t tell you that so you think I have the most perfect skin, but I cannot lie.  The camera doesn’t lie, the feature on it does, haha!

One look for the camera and I was out the door for study, great worship, made a new friend at church and also met up with my dear Melissa Schollaert, a fellow photog.  You see a lot of her photos on here, she did my profile photo on the blog and she is not only a great friend but a talented peer!  We caught up over lunch and talked about what we wanted to do with the rest of our lives.  It seems to be our topic of conversation lately and seems to change for the both of us quite often.

Do you ever feel like you’re in a constant transition?  Sometimes I don’t really think that means we’re lost people, but maybe we just need a break, or maybe we just need to take time to do other things to get a new passion, find the one we’ve lost, or just go in another direction.

Or just take a nap in your comfy cashmere silk top.

Equipment used: Sony NEX-5R (c/o), 18-55mm (c/o).

Love that top! You look beautiful in grey.
Melissa Schollaert is a sweetie – I had the honor of working with her once. Her and I share a love of Italy.

Hi Carissa! Thank you, I sometimes think I need to get more color in my wardrobe – funny thing is I have a habit of collecting only neutral shoes :) Yes Mel is so sweet and talented right?! Small world, hope we run into each other one day! xx
