Vitamin Sea

I spent five days with one of my best girlfriends in Costa Mesa. I’ve been going out every summer to visit her, usually 3-4 days and this time I did 5 but really at the end we looked at each other and were like, it should have been longer because it flew by – late nights watching TV, eating candy, chatting in the mornings taking it slow, getting ready and shopping, just doing life together at a slow calm pace was exactly what my soul needed – and my body needed Vitamin Sea and girl time to escape the 105 heat in Phoenix AND my week-long battle with pneumonia.
Fresh air and good weather and well, oodles of shopping – and way too much might I add – I think that’s the right prescription for anyone who needs to be reminded life is good ;)
I still can’t believe I got pneumonia. I’m 90% better but this skin hives rash thing is so odd and it looks like I’ve got a skin disease or been attacked by kittens.
My top is by Lilly Pulitzer, the ultimate sunny vacay day clothes. Whenever I go somewhere beach-ish or need resort wear, I just grab all my Lilly and it all goes together. This print top is sooo cute kind of like watercolor gingham. If you like it, check out the dress here.
Another one of my favorite staples is this popover which is UPF 50+ and it is lightweight but keeps you warm enough when the sun sets and it sure is better than wearing a sweatshirt *wink*
I wear size small in the popover and it is comfortable enough and doesn’t feel too tight. I want the blush and lace version here. Can one of you buy it so I feel like I did?
A few things I’m really wanting to add to my summer collection, the multicolored maxi dress especially, doesn’t Lilly just scream summer or vacay?
And in a few weeks I’ll be in San Diego visiting another one of my best friends and her family, it’s so nice to have friends in other places so you can visit! And it’s always wonderful to be back in my home state, even though I’ve been in Phoenix for 10 years, holy moly!
I feel like I deserve some credit for lasting through 10 hot summers, but I know once October hits it’ll be such wonderful weather back here and I can get out and garden, wahoo! Hope you are all having a wonderful summer! xx
