Homes of Ireland

Have you ever wondered what the homes in Ireland look like?  Well, thank goodness for you, I’m a home stalker and snapped some pics with my Sony NEX-5R (that Sony provided to me) to share with you!

My favorite thing was seeing the additional door to a see-thru mudroom most homes seemed to have (below).  You can say Ireland weather is like Seattle – cloudy, rainy all year long and very unpredictable with rain.  I would love to incorporate the glass front mudroom look to our home in the future.

And these were snapped on our way to Dublin on a double decker bus.  I used the fastest shutter speed I could as we drove by.  It seems as though each home has their own private little parking area away from the busy streets.

There were lots of Tudor style homes there too which I love!

And this is Cullen’s Cottage, a restaurant at Ashford Castle.  Yes I said Cullen.

And I found a Coke with Edward on it and so I had to do this…

Just representing Team Edward, in Ireland.

Equipment used: Sony NEX-5R (c/o), 50mm f1/.816mm f/2.8 + 18-55mm (c/o).

Diana Elizabeth says what were the chances she’d find and Edward coke and then eat dinner at Cullen’s later that night?  A Twilight miracle!

Those homes are absolutely beautiful. I’ve never been to Ireland, but I’d love to visit some day.

They are so lovely! Don’t you always want to knock on the door and ask for a tour when you see a cute little home? Hehe…I’ve always felt that way when I see one, but I’ve resisted the urge knowing the response at the door is not the response I want. ;)

I love this! I was so humbled by their homes when we were there this spring. It opened my eyes to how materialistic we (generally speaking “we”!) are here in the States – the emphasis we put on how big our houses are, how many cars we have in the driveway, how fancy we seem to be and we how show it off here… When things are so simple and sweet there. It was so refreshing, really! Less is more in my book! :)

Completely agree Regan! I love simplicity, I love small scale, I love quaint and green and just the humble attitude and perspective. I have learned SO much being over there, which makes me really yearn to go back so I can keep that perspective :)

Forgot to ask why the Coke had Edward on it.

    • Diana Elizabeth

Hi Krystal! Coke has a campaign going on that’s called “Share a Coke with ____” and so they have a few names that are popular over there – some are VERY different than ours but they had Ben and Edward! More on that next week :)
