For a year I’ve been eyeing the sequin hangers I see all over Etsy trying to figure out if it was worth splurging on or if I could make them myself. And as my mom always says, “Let’s make it!”

So let’s! Just in time for your holiday parties, perhaps you need to bring out an extra coat rack, why not hang some pretty hangers on it as well? Pick your sequin ribbon color, grab a hot glue gun and let’s go!

Supplies Needed

Steps

Use a hot glue gun and start wrapping the sequin ribbon at an angle – don’t stretch it or you’ll see the white stretchy material, just make sure it lays flat and no gaps as you wind around the wood hanger.

Tip: When working with bare hands and a hot glue gun, as my mother recommends, have a cup of ice water nearby. I gave myself an instant blister when the glue stuck to the pad of my pointer finger – owie.

Continue wrapping until you get to the top and can wrap it all the way over and glue.

If you happen to see gaps like below, don’t worry!

Just snip a peace and glue it under the rest of the layers so it will blend in.

And just like that, you’re done!  Add it to your guest coat rack for some extra sparkle! Use it for bridesmaid or a wedding gown or a boutique clothing website .
