Hiding stuff in the laundry room

Instead of a junk drawer we have this junk section next to our washing machine on the left side.  I can’t really see it from most angles of the laundry room, but I know it’s there and it’s been taunting me for a good while.

Finally after a trip to IKEA with Ricki because that’s the only way that a big crazy place like that can be fun – with the company of a really good friend, I picked up the tools I needed.  IKEA also started selling fabric by the yard!  Most are priced around $7.99 per yard.

Took these really quickly with my Canon Powershot 100 on manual mode:

Before:

After:

laundry-room-112 laundry-room-113

I wanted to use the DEKA curtain wire but they were sold out!  So I had to use the DIGITET curtain wire and RIKTIG curtain hooks which of course cost more, but whatever.  I wasn’t going to go back and I could still just run it straight across.

I also got the fabric from IKEA, called BJÖRNLOKA.  I think I understood half of what I just wrote for this post, it’s like I just got out of Swedish class.

Diana Elizabeth says what doesn’t IKEA make?  Tiles, that’s all she can figure out so far, but she’s sure they will come up with it eventually!
