Growing Younger by Gardening

I bought this floral shirt on clearance at Macy’s last fall. I think it was like $10 and totally made me think it was for a little old lady but then I thought – I kinda like it because my soul has always been a little older. But I swear sometimes I feel like I’m younger than I am too – ha!

Lately though, I’ll be in my car and driving and say out loud to myself, “Where am I going, where am I going?” and I freak out because I literally have no idea what my driving plans were and I just keep driving straight until I remember! Have you done this? A few years ago I walked out of a store, stood on the curb and stared at the parking lot trying to remember where I parked. I must’ve looked so perplexed because a car stoped in front of me, the driver, an older man rolled down his window and said to me, “It only gets worse,” and we both shared a laugh before he drove off.

But enough about getting older and being forgetful. I think gardening will keep me young because it will be the only way I’ll get exercise.

Benjamin got me these foam kneepads from the 99 Cents Only Store. I wanted yellow but he insisted on purple for some reason – it’s not my color of choice but it serves its purpose.

The garden is doing well, the trench is covered and we put some more seed hoping it will be back to normal this spring. Just the trade off with any home renovations, it could’ve been worse – like a trench right THROUGH my garden beds.

I thought I’d share some favorite stores I frequent for gardening supplies – Terrain (owned by Anthropologie) for fashion, gloves and the best hats, and Gardener’s for all the gardening supplies you would need – raised garden bed corners, tomato cages, ALL of the practical must need things for your garden, occasional Plow & Hearth for garden accents, and Joss & Main for additional garden accents.

All tools are Fiskars, you saw our tool shed tour and occasionally Amazon, of course. I also list my favorite products for every category (garden shop page here) as I discover them here on my shop page. The page will link you to the product.

Today I’m doing a half day of work and a half day of cleaning up around the house. We have a handyman fixing things up around the house – I really want to have a reality show with him, I think we’d be great for TV. I remember there was an HGTV show years ago where there would be a non professional designer with a handyman and they would create projects for challenges together – I wish they’d bring that back. Just putting it out there.
