Google Analytics, My Search Terms

I love Google Analytics.  Do you have it installed on your blog so you can see how many hits you get?  The great part is seeing the visitors and where they come from as well as the most popular categories they look at (which tells you a lot about your reader demographic).  The other fun part is well, reading the keyword search terms visitors used to get on my blog, duh!

For fun, I thought I’d pick some random ones, some popular and others not, and answer the questions that everyone is looking for, apparently.

“Firefighter Portrait Photography”
Oh man, you google searched that and came upon my blog?  If you find any, please tell me where!!

“Anthropologie Style Show Booth”
Yes, the hundreds of you who searched that, I had the most amazing one at the Arizona Bridal Show thanks to Adam for building it.  You can steal my idea.  I stole it from Anthro, anyway.

“Diana Elizabeth Look”
I was unaware I had a look. Is this meant physically appearance wise or does this have to do with my processing/editing style of my images?  I will assume it’s the latter since I am not one to think any one wants to look like me.  I try to shoot as perfectly as I can out of the camera.  I overexpose on manual mode and I find ways to use natural light a lot, whether it’s bouncing off other objects, or open shade or backlighting, that’s how I do it. If you still want more, take my 4-week online course that starts May 2.  Sign up now and join the cool kids.  I’ll teach a thing, or two, or 50.

“Diane Elizabeth”
Eh, close enough.  Just remember it’s Diana after Princess Diana and Elizabeth after the Queen.  No joke.

“Diana Elizabeth Photography Prices”
You can find that on my homepage, www.dianaelizabeth.com.  If you can’t find it, just ask :)

“Diana Elizabeth Camera Bag”
You mean my ShootSac?  My rhinestone ShootSac?  A new cover is being made for me this very moment by Rockstar Mommies.  Can’t wait to show you.  Or, did you mean what is in my camera bag?  For that, click here.

“Diana Elizabeth Photography Online Editor”
I really blog you guys, it’s me.  I mean, come on, you think an editor would really allow such bad grammar and incorrect spelling as often as I do?  …Was that even proper English?  If you’re wondering who designed my blog, it is me.  I’m also a graphic/web designer.  I took a WordPress template and made it custom as much as I could.  I will however, be getting a new one this summer!  Weee!

“How did Diana Elizabeth begin photography”
I’m going to end with this because it’s so cute.  So this is a story all about how my life got  flipped, turned upside down, and I’d like to take a minute just sit right there, I’ll tell you how I became Diana Elizabeth the photographer with great hair.  OK, so I had to find something that rhymed with “there.”  I picked up my first DLSR, a Canon Rebel XSi two a half years ago as a hobbyist.  I just photographed for a personal blog of mine.  Then, I won registration to WPPI Las Vegas 2010 via Twitter thanks to a KISS Wedding Books contest.  I went, learned a ton, then with my background in already running a business (graphic design) and five years in marketing for a national company in corporate America, it wasn’t tough to start another one. And so, Diana Elizabeth Photography was born.  My skills were sharpened, I went to workshop after workshop and I kept shooting.  I shot every chance I got.  I upgraded my equipment, I read blogs, I studied other photographer’s work.  Photographers took me under their wing, I learned, I second shot at weddings, and then, I jumped from the corporate career after the company was undergoing some restructuring and haven’t looked back.  I now run Silver Spoon Studio and Diana Elizabeth Photography full time and I make more than I did in corporate.  Neener neener neener (that was to my old corporate job that I loathed).

Diana Elizabeth says if she can do it, you can too.  Do it.

Diana Elizabeth is an author, photographer, and obsessive thrift shopper. You can typically find her in the garden wrist deep in dirt, at a local estate sale or planning her next creative themed party. She continues to blog weekly.
