With the home expansion and a Christmas list, we are trying to save money in so many ways this season. The home expansion is on the top of our minds right now. With any expansion, there are unexpected things that have come up (though I expect that too, haha). Then there’s the realization you still have to furnish the space. All this to say, this holiday season we are looking for great ways to give back but also show our loved ones that we are thinking about them.
The Arbor Day Foundation approached me about their holiday cards that ties in with their mission of planting trees – of course it’s a cause I could get on board! As a garden and nature lover I love not only the cause of these cards, but the value as well. You can have them send you a card or download it and print it yourself if you need a card or certificate in a pinch!
For every card or certificate you buy, Arbor Day Foundation will plant a tree in a National Park on that person’s behalf.
You can send commemorative certificates – in honor of a person, celebrating someone’s life, birth or passing, an accomplishment, or a holiday. I really love that you can download the personalization and print immediately from your printer or have them mail them to you. You can also send it straight to the recipient! This is also a great idea for corporate gifts if philanthropy is a big priority for the organization or company you own. You can additionally select the National Forest where you’d like the trees planted, and how many trees if you’d like to say, plant five for five family members.
If you want to send a card, you can select the card photo, write a custom message and upload an image. Once you are done you can download a proof to make sure it looks good.
The customizable cards are affordable, and comparable to the cost of a regular card just $5. You can also order in bulk – hit those names on your Christmas list!
Since we are not spending Christmas with Benjamin’s family this year, we are sending them these cards instead – mom and dad get a custom card and we will also send out a commemorative certificate with our photo Christmas card.

- Give-a-Tree cards for an occasion – sets also available
We know Benjamin’s side of the family will appreciate this as we’ve often received cards similar to these philanthropic gestures like donating a goat or something on our behalf to those in need. We know we have enough “stuff” and want to give back to our beautiful Earth. These Holiday Give a Tree Card and Trees in Celebration Certificates are fantastic and there’s free shipping now through December.
