Easy Planning for a Girl’s Night In

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of 34 Degrees. The opinions and text are all mine.

Sometimes you just want to stay in and still see your friends and be social! Entertaining at home doesn’t have to take much prep work and you don’t need much to entice your friends for a lovely get together. Hosting is in my blood; my parents love to host and growing up I have always marveled at the excitement of guests coming in the door, laughter, and cheers throughout the night.

I love having a home that friends can feel welcome to and want to make memories in – or start the pre-party at your house before you head out. Here are a few things that will help make planning easy so you’ll be more inclined to throw a party – and make it look effortless.

Pick a color theme

If you pick a color it will help you collect all the dishes in your home and props to set aside for your gathering. I promise it will make it so much easier and more fun for you to display and prep.

In this case, girls night? Pink! Bonus if you pick up florals too!

Great food + snacks

If you don’t have time to prep or want to worry about cooking, order via food delivery service from your favorite restaurant – but transfer everything onto presentable platters. Or if you have time, plan a potluck.

I like to set out a few snacks as dinner is getting ready, or rather, on their delivery way – check out these pretty crackers by 34 Degrees – they are wafer-thin and and come in 10 sweet and savory flavors: natural, rosemary, toasted onion, cracked pepper, sesame, whole grain, vanilla, chocolate, sweet lemon and cinnamon!

You can serve them just as they are right out of the box, such pretty edges just make them look delectable. If you want to get fancy, they go well with cheeses, or top them with a basic fruit dip (cream cheese mixed with a yogurt and sugar, or cream cheese with a jar of marshmallow dip) and a slice of fruit.

Find 34 Degrees crackers in the deli department of your local supermarket – near the cheese. Here’s a store locator.

These crackers also go wonderfully with coffee or tea, a nice little treat after the meal.

Looking for drink ideas? This Banana Pineapple Punch recipe was passed down to me from my best friend’s family and it’s a hit every party. You can also add spirits to it!

Games

LCR, Left Center Right dice game is a favorite in my girl gang. We bring dollar bills though – haha! We bring $3 each – or up it if you want! And you just get in a circle, roll the two dice and it tells you where to put your dollars, to the right of you, the left, keep one, or put it in the center pot. Once friends get eliminated and you see the pot of cash it gets REALLY exciting when it comes down to 2 players!

Other favorites of mine include old school games I found in my closet growing up like Girl Talk – you don’t have to take games seriously just have them there if friends feel like playing.

Set the music

You always need jams, or else the party seems so quiet – a little background music is great, either set a channel on the TV or pick your favorite station on Spotify. 34 Degrees actually curated a great playlist for entertaining – check it out here. All you have to do is hit play!

Option to stay the night

Adult sleepover? Why not? You may have friends who live far away to drive after a long night – it’s dangerous driving with little sleep, or they want to have the entire night and morning off!

They may long for a break, so offer up that guest room or couch and let girlfriends know they can have as much fun as they want, pull an all nighter and know they have a bed at your place waiting for them. Besides, it will make you feel like you’re 16 again.

If you love throwing parties I’d love to hear your favorite traditions – whether it’s a recipe or a fun game or tradition you have. Happy hosting!
