Relaxing has consisted of watching rose pruning videos at midnight wondering if I can borrow Benjamin’s headlamp I bought him for Christmas years ago (I highly recommend getting your hubby it as a gift, he will LOVE it). He usually wears it to take out the trash LOL, but after my video education I debated going out into the yard to prune! I know, I’m crazy! I didn’t do it, but I shot out of bed the following morning with shears in hand ready to take what I learned to use. I also subscribed to PBS Masterpiece for $5.99 a month through Amazon and don’t know why it took me so long. I’m watching Mr. Selfridge again and I highly recommend it.
With the home projects being complete, it feels nice.
I can easily sway between unnecessarily busy with work – which at the same time should be necessary, or reverting back to my word for the year, “enjoy” which uhhhh I was enjoying like everyone else until March hit.
So I’m navigating this new unstructured schedule of no home projects, full-time entrepreneurship and the desire to work less! I’m crazy! Oh, and also stir crazy as summer hits and I would certainly love to be out of country again but that’s not happening. I think being able to travel overseas twice within six months should fill me and I’m thankful God gave me those sweet opportunities with my best friends in France and my parents in Taiwan.
Lately I’ve been finding time to read and flip through new books, including Audrey At Home, and French Country Cottage Inspired Gatherings for inspiration! I am a hardcover book collector, from interior design to gardening books! French Country Cottage Inspired Gatherings makes me feel like I’m about to jump in the pages and experience a magical evening filled with laughter and memories with a friend or a group of friends. I actually will picture very specific people in my lives sitting in the seats in the images! I’m doing small gatherings for now, but I can’t wait to get back to the big parties again, eventually.
I had the pleasure of briefly meeting Courtney Allison at a design conference in Atlanta last year and she signed her first book, French Country Cottage for me. I requested a few of my favorite photos in her latest hosting book to share with you, the publisher sent me a hardcopy. The book is just filled with photos that will make you happy and inspired! This would be a great book for a gift, for the hostess, new homeowner, or anyone who just loves pretty romantic photos, and French anything, hmmmmm no wonder I love it! I think I need to now gather more linen napkins, move tables under trees, and tie my silverware with a velvet ribbon! Find it at Amazon here.
Now if you excuse me, back to my PBS Masterpiece classics station! Europe awaits!
Diana Elizabeth is listening to French cafe music on her Google Home right now.
