A workshop for new DSLR owners + Intermediate Photographers

I’m doing it again.  Funny still frame faces are free.  I just realized I look like I’m doing that annoying teenage duck lips face.  I swear I’m not doing it on purpose and my lips have not been injected. Anyway…

Starting Wednesday, September 26, every week at 5 pm PST, 4 weeks.  With recorded playback, and a fun Facebook group to upload your weekly assignments too – you will master manual mode and know more than the average Joe about photography.

If you have never shot on manual mode before, you’ll learn. If you know manual mode but you aren’t getting the right images and you know you can get better, let’s relearn the basics so you can understand why you’re not getting the shots you want.  We’ll talk about light, processing, composition, backlighting, everything you want to get airy and crisp images.

You’ll get equipped with insider knowledge on:

  • Equipment favorites and resources
  • The correct lenses to use for capturing the image you want
  • ISO, shutterspeed, and aperture (and how they all relate)
  • Composition secrets
  • Lighting techniques—silhouette, backlighting, golden light, open shade, bounce flash, direct flash, and more!
  • Working with subjects to get the reactions you want—children, couples, families
  • Posing and styling techniques
  • Post processing—using actions and presets
  • And much, much more!

The Testimonials

“I got my first DSLR camera on a Tuesday and by the end of Diana’s first class on Wednesday I knew how to shoot in manual mode. Diana’s instructions were so easy to understand. I am so grateful for this course and I now have a firm foundation in photography. Even professional photographers are impressed that I shoot in manual mode. I’m impressed with Diana’s knowledge and enthusiasm for what she does!”

“Just three weeks into the course and I feel like my confidence when taking pictures has boosted! I walk into a photo shoot confident that my lighting will come out right. I always tried to find and google information about aperture, shutter speed, and ISO and I was always guided to the most complicated manuals and articles. I never really understood any of it. The way you have taught this workshop has made it so easy for me to understand and grasp the concepts.”
