Engagement at Scorpion Gulch: Melayne + Drew

Meet Melayne for the first time and you’ll feel like you’ve known her a lifetime, you just get comfortable with her. She has an absolute infectious personality that earns her friends everywhere she goes. Drew is smart, laid back, funny, and did I mention smart? He’s an attorney! The two met over a decade ago for an afternoon date – Melayne doesn’t remember it but Drew does, LOL.

They reconnected a decade later and it all worked out – despite the long distance of Costa Mesa to Albuquerque. Drew sends Melayne a song every morning since they started dating which is so sweet!

I should also mention Melayne is one of my long time best friends, like truly a sister to me (her mom calls me on my birthday and I feel like I’m part of her family, love her siblings and all). We met through competing at the Miss Arizona USA pageant. It’s where our group of friends started – the gals who make up the yearly pajama Christmas party and annual girls trip to Vegas. We are all thrilled for Melayne meeting her perfect match, Drew is amazing! When discussing an engagement location, I always imagined Melayne at the beach since she now lives in Costa Mesa, but she insisted showcasing the Arizona desert where she’s from, the state where their wedding will be this Labor Day! (I will not be shooting that wedding I will be enjoying it with our best friends and toasting and dancing the night away and Benjamin was just asked to be the officiant!) Congratulations Drew and Melayne, we love you guys!
