All the short-cut kitchen crazies (like myself) rejoiced – an even quicker, easier and healthier solution – an air fryer!

This one by Avalon Bay AB-AIRFRYER200SS is a digital model for $108, while non-digital model is $89 and comes in a variety of colors as well.

What is an Air Fryer?

It’s a 4-in-1 cooking solution – you can grill, bake, roast, and fry food! But without oil or with every little! It’s also faster to cook! Now I’m a super kitchen ninja with my already portioned ingredient meals from Blue Apron and now this – I can be done with my 30 min. prep time meals in 20!

If you can cook it in an oven, you can cook it in an air fryer – including cake and brownies! Peek at the cookbook here. It circulates hot hair cooking it all around without any oil – a healthier alternative.

Put everything in –

Add seasons or a little tiny oil if the pamphlet recommends (it will be 1/2 tbsp) –

season airfryer

And presto got this done in 15 minutes when according to my Blue Apron meal I needed to cook it for 25 at 425 degrees and drizzle all over with oil. Instead, I added 1/2 tbsp. of oil, 370 degrees and cooked it for 17 minutes.

  • When it’s too hot to cook (like the summertime)
  • Small – good for dorm rooms
  • Easy clean up
  • Healthy – cut back on fatty oils (no need to use oil to cook your food)
  • Faster cooking and heat up time

What are the advantages?

Let’s look at this pretty little chart that shows the temperature and time in comparison (a similar guide is included in the informational pamphlet) – I made a few adjustments because it depends on thickness of fries and potato wedges – the pamphlet gets much more specific but I wanted to give you a quick overview on types of food.

Frozen Chicken Nuggets20 Min.400°F6-10 Min.400°F

You can also cook at a lower temperatures depending on small the pieces are.

Just a quick note on what not to cook in your air fryer: greasy foods that should be greasy like sausages or bacon. You should also avoid vegetables that you usually cook or steam like carrots, broccoli and beans, you can leave those items for the microwave.
