I enjoy continually challenging myself to improve my personal habits and one of them is saving money. We can all improve and strive to find better ways to save and find deals, am I right? Benjamin always approves when I’m saving money – he also never hesitates to remind me we are on a “savings-spree” especially with the home expansion underway. I’m always looking for ways to save money through deals, or having days off from the bank account – remember my week long spending freeze?
There are so many reasons to celebrate life and if you’re a hostess like myself, a challenging part is picking a theme and collecting the party supplies and decor to go with it. It can cost so much just to make the party cute and have a theme, but I found a way to decorate a party on a budget by going to the 99 Cents Only Stores.
These new Light Up LED Dream Catchers are available for just $4.99 and just landed in stores, they come in a variety of colors and styles. I can’t wait to show you what else I found for a Boho-themed Night Party.
When I saw these I thought, what fun theme can I make around this?
Considering that cactus and boho themes are in, a little cactus love, a sweet free-spirited look, what about a little Boho Night party! I thought it would be fun to show how you can create a fun evenings with the popular Boho theme. I popped into my closest 99 to check out their home decor and party supplies. When I host parties whether it be a shower, large dinner, I typically set a personal budget for $100 for the extra things I may need to purchase. Well, this time check out what I got for under $50!
There are banners, balloons, shapes and signs for any party you plan on throwing or hosting at the 99. I can’t wait to return for Christmas – I have a new theme in mind for our pajama Christmas party and I’m sure I’ll be able to decorate for it and under budget too if I stop by the 99 again.
I’ve heard of friends who swap party decorations after a party is over, like children’s parties which is pretty brilliant if you are low on space or you can’t redo another theme. And the 99 allows you to really decorate within your budget, or under, with their extensive variety of home decor and party supplies. As Benjamin says, “The deal is made when you buy,” so finding a bargain is the best!
The 99 also has an impressive aisle of utensils and party decorations including streamers, cups and plates. I also spotted large balloons and piñatas in the shape of a unicorn, castle, rainbow, the list went on. I can’t tell you the last time I recall spending just 99 cents on a few streamers or a set of plates or napkins.
And now just wait until you see what I found under budget.
I walked down the home decor aisle a few times to find tables decor and the light up LED Dream Catchers really completed the entire Boho Nights theme party! I also got excited when I saw the watercolor standup cactus.
I also went down the kitchen aisle to find a table cloth and it was fun to see how things came together – who knew you could create a theme on the fly and find so many things that make it work?
^^ All this for under $50! The light-up box was $3.99, the cute LED Neon Cactus Light was $4.99 (seen similar more expensive elsewhere), watercolor standup Cactus decor were $1.99 each, the printed vinyl tablecloth was $1.99, and these candles and ceramic tea light holders were $.99 each! The LED dream catchers are $4.99 each. I circled the store probably a few times and went down every aisle at least three times to make sure I didn’t miss anything. I carefully look at everything and use my imagination for what will really stand out for decor items.
I love to stop into the 99 when I’m about to host a party. I check out what extras I can pick up for a great deal.
I went to the 99 last Easter with my mother-in-law and bought small prizes to put in the eggs, egg shaped bunny heads to place in my floral arrangements, and cute plastic eggs shaped like animals for the Easter egg hunt and lunch I hosted. I can’t wait to do it again next year with my little and big friends.
Anyway, back to the boho party. All this cuteness from the 99 Cent Only Store, most from the home decor aisle, these items make for cute party favors and decor. You can also gift tabletop decor as parting gifts if you don’t have room to store these for another theme. These tea lights just get me, little ceramic cuties – you could hang these from tree branches too.
I went glam boho, that’s how I roll, a bit of glam and shiny stuff. The light up box was only $3.99 I can’t believe it because I have seen them quadruple the price at other stores. Gah, well at least I know better now! Always check the 99 first before all else.
I’m dying over these neon lights shaped like cacti! I only bought two but I should have bought four. They also had lips and a flamingo but that didn’t go with my theme, but I kept that in mind for the future. The Light Up LED Dream Catchers really solidified the Boho nights theme – not just any dream catcher, it lights up and makes it dreamy, it was as if the Boho Nights party theme picked me!
All you need for a night theme party like this on a budget:
- Creative lights – like the LED Dream Catchers, light up sign, neon cactus lights, cafe string lights (I already had)
- Home decor – always look at home decor those pieces can easily transition to outside
- Easy utensils – disposable is a fun, casual and very easy way to add a theme and clean up right away!
- Flowers – fresh flowers in a vase or a potted flower like I added on the ground, it brings life to the event!
What do you think? Checking out the 99 is a great way to see how far you can stretch your dollar – my dad always said I never understood the value of a dollar and now I can prove him wrong! Ha!
I actually went back the next day to another 99 Cents Only Store after I had lunch with one of my best friends. I told her I was working on a party and needed to stop by the 99 and she said, “I love the 99 Cents Store! I’ll go with you!” So we went after our lunch date and I bought some items for Halloween and she bought a few pretty plastic cups.
Find the nearest 99 Cents Only Store by you here and 99 your next party or decor needs! And feel free to steal this Boho Nights theme idea – even a Boho shower or boho themed wedding would be gorgeous with these light up LED Dream Catchers, get them now!
