Crushing Mornings with Dixie® To Go

The struggle is real. I am convinced being a morning person is a genetic trait as Benjamin jokes he’s afraid to wake “the dragon,” (that’s me) even when I’m napping. I realize I sound like I’m a sleeping toddler, but I just love to sleep in later because my brain is so awake at night and that’s when my bright ideas come to me!

When I had morning photo assignments that required me to be up by 7 am, I decided to keep the early morning schedule going because I was so productive. Benjamin rises early regularly because of his job in medical device sales, he has to make it to morning OR cases. When I say early, I’m talking like 4 am!

So with both of us getting up early – mandatory or voluntarily, I realized I have a motivator like everyone else – coffee! So you know my latest home project is the storage shed – so after emails are answered, I head out and start organizing – this project is going to take a while. Drinks, especially with caffeine are such a motivator, I don’t know why but I always have a cup in my hand in the mornings.

I have this obsession with having a lid on my drinks, I’m paranoid of stuff getting in them (bugs, dust) – I’m like that little girl in the thriller movie “Signs” who says she needs a new glass because there’s dust in her water.

I also like to make coffee for friends who stop by and they can take their drink with them. All this talk about hot coffee and tea is getting me so excited for tall boots, sweaters – and the holidays.
